What inspired you to become a Speaker? Throughout my childhood I felt that my experiences silenced me in many aspects. I didn’t really jump to the occasion to become a speaker and it initially frightened me to be vulnerable and share my story. Every single moment I have is a moment to invest, empower, encourage, uplift, and inspire someone. In being vulnerable and speaking up, I’m imparting some of the most precious gifts I can give which are value and significance. Every person deserves to know that they are seen, heard, and that their value never fluctuates based on the circumstances, experiences, mistakes, and /or choices that have impacted their lives. The way I do that is by using my voice to those who may feel silenced as I once did.
After I speak, my heart is full and I know I’m fulfilling my purpose on the Earth, when I see them nod their head in agreement, or tears roll down their faces, or they come up to me and say, “I’m not alone.” I carry this same conviction to invest in others in every role I have as a wife, mother, nurse, C.N.A instructor ., author, or an advocate for those who are voiceless. I choose to use the gift of my voice to uplift and inspire others. Share the top 2 messages that you convey during events: There are 2 messages that I know will never lose relevance. 1. The first has to do with purpose & significance. We are all created for a purpose and we are significant. We are created for a purpose and because of that, we have significance. Not only according to the One who created us, but also in the lives of others if we are willing to invest in them 2. The second has to do with forgiveness and healing. We can become stagnant in our growth and development if we don’t walk through forgiveness. If we allow unforgiveness to fuel us, we will not obtain freedom and we will not be able to fully impact others in a significant and positive way. What has this current season taught you about life and/or entrepreneurship? I believe that life and entrepreneurship are in sync with each other. If I fight for comfort in my life, I will never understand the capacity I have to grow which ultimately feeds my entrepreneurship journey. It is the most uncomfortable and unknown situations in my life that have been the most transformative. My story of how I came to Texas at the age of 16 was completely uncomfortable. I was in unknown territory. Little did I know that moment to leave my home in Louisiana would be the catalyst for who you see today. How do you plan to make the next 6 months, your best 6 months? I’m going to jump into the unknown and uncomfortable places of transformation and growth unapologetically. I will continue to invest in my community and seize every moment that I have to elevate and cultivate others. As long as my purpose involves others, every day will be my best day on Earth.
