Tell us a bit about yourself and business journey. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be successful. I wasn't quite sure how that would look but I knew the life I wanted would be BIG! I remember it like yesterday the day I walked into my purpose. I always wanted to be a teacher but never in a million years did I dream of owning and operating a daycare. I started the journey at age 19 and for eleven years I have poured my all into my childcare program. My name is Lashanda I am also known as the Daycare Diva. When I began my childcare program in 2009 I knew I wanted to pursue a purpose much bigger than the space I had. I decided not to let that stop me. I decided not to let my space dictate how I would operate my program. I started a home base childcare business in an apartment on the second floor. I didn't think that I would get approved but I put my best foot forward and here we are eleven years later. Thankful What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from being a boss?
The biggest lesson I learned from being a boss is leadership skills are important. There is no I in team and you simply can't do it yourself. Take time for yourself, invest in furthering your knowledge. Clap for yourself every step of the way. Please share a few of your 2020 business accomplishments: Some of my 2020 business accomplishments is through 11 years of great service to the children in my community I birthed a new consulting business to help mentor and coach the women running and operating a childcare program just like me. I have learned so many valuable lesson and I know I can hep the next set of women succeed. I also created a line of products to help teach and educate scholars worldwide. We now have grown from a daycare to also having workbooks, interactive learning binders and so much more. What is next for you? Daycare Diva Consulting was created to help inspire uplift and motivate fellow childcare providers like myself to dream BIG. I have learned so many techniques with branding and marketing my business. I plan on helping Change the narrative of childcare providers. It's time we have the conversation of what a childcare provider really is and how we help educate the future leaders of tomorrow.
