Tell us about your latest Mompreneur Moves! I have curated a webinar series in response to COVID-19. Titled ‘Protection Preparedness: Family, Health, and Business’, the forum focuses on the current pandemic state and how to plan for the unexpected. “Due to the recent events our nation has faced and as our new normal continues to evolve, this discussion is here to accelerate families' decision making process and prepare for the next 5-10 years. It’s never been more vital than now to set a plan in place for the unexpected. We have designed this virtual meetup to assist those in gaining a better understanding of how to sustain and thrive during economic hardships.”
How do you balance entrepreneurship with motherhood? I am always prioritizing my life and my daughter's life. Both of us have pretty demanding schedules. As a single mom, it can get crazy for both us. But, I always figure it out, even when I don't want to. I always make time for myself and if I am unable to complete a task, I do not beat myself up about it, I will add it to my to-do list for the next day and go from there. If I am tired, I rest. If I need a vacation, I go on vacation. The balance will look differently for all of us. The important takeaway is knowing how to balance. How to stay sane in the midst of chaos. What 3 steps helped you to become successful as a Mompreneur? Step 1: Keeping my eyes on my own paper. I never worry about my competition. Step 2: Saying no. and making it a complete sentence. Everything does not require an explanation. Step 3: Having a team and a supportive village. Things will get tough and you will need a team to step in for you and your village to help with your child(ren). As much as we would love to do it all, it's ok to ask for help. Any advice for mom's who are considering a pivot into entrepreneurship right now? Get consistent. By consistent I mean, in all things. Get a planner and map out your time, your schedule, the kid's activities. Set appointment reminders. Set your weekly, monthly, and quarterly budgets. Go to bed early or sleep in (I prefer to sleep in) ... Everything takes time. Don't give up on your dreams or yourself. During the wake of this COVID-19 Pandemic is very important to bet on yourself and your family. That may look different for all of us and that's ok. There's no rules on the road to success. Research. Research. Research. That's a major key. Please share how readers can support you and connect with you online: FB: @arleantimmons IG: @arleantimmons 30 Minute Strategy Calls: yeswomen2014@gmail.com
