Introduce yourself and tell us about your profession: Hey GlamBoss! I'm Tikisha Morris. I am an author, empowerment speaker and creative consultant. A part of my life's calling is to share my story of trials and triumphs with other women for the sole purpose of showing them that they will MORE THAN overcome! I am so grateful to be able to do this through these avenues. I am a native of Hartford, CT and relocated almost 3 years ago to Atlanta, GA. Just call me the girl with Northern swag and Southern class, truly the best of both worlds. I get to share my life with my amazing husband Chris and our 13 year old son Chris, Jr. We also have 3 adult children Yavonne, Anthony and Brittany. What sparked your interest in this are? Coming from a place in which I lacked a positive self identity for most of my life, even into adulthood, I was plagued by fear and hopelessness. When God delivered me from those grips He gave me a burning desire to rescue His daughters who are stuck in that same space and love them back to life. Being able to empower women in a manner that moves them from feelings to faith and in faith to action is a manner of growth that can't be denied.
Women that are considered strong in our community are often overlooked, and women that are considered weak in our community are over overlooked and women who fall in the middle are, you guessed it, over looked! We are often left to "figure it out". My spark is ignited when I am able to connect with women and assure them that it's OK that they don't know the "how's" and the "why's" of life. That's my purpose. That's what I'm here for. To help you to understand your "why" in life and create a strategy through group or individual coaching so that you know exactly "how" you will accomplish it in the earth! What advice would you have to women interested in a similar pursuit? As women, we have powerful stories of hope and healing that often go untold unless we are asked. If you are a woman interested in speaking or writing in the form of a book, blog, essay or whatever, I encourage you not to wait to be asked. There are women waiting to hear specifically from you, and if they don't know you, they don't know to ask. And if they met you on the other side of your trial, they don't know to ask. So here, right now, on behalf of those women, I ask, will you share your story with the world? Don't let the thought of others sharing stories similar to yours stop you. Just like we all have a finger print, we all have a story, and just like your finger print your story is a unique identifier of who you are and there is healing, hope and restoration there. What is next for you in 2017/2018? In the years 2017/2018, you will find me every where that God releases me to go. In August of this year, I released my first book, 'Girl, Get Your Mind Right!' and it has truly been an amazing experience. It has opened up speaking opportunities, book signings and TV appearances. I will continue on the promotion tour of my book as well as my social movement, One D.O.P.E Woman which is an opportunity to celebrate women who are Destined Obedient Purposed and Excellent (DOPE). Through One D.O.P.E Woman we take the facts of life and line them up with the Word of God to create breakthrough opportunities. These breakthrough opportunities allow women to see themselves above their circumstances so that they can map out a strategic plan through faith, prayer and work that will propel them into their promised lives. I'm also expanding into new opportunities in the realm of television, movies and radio to bring the uncompromising story of everyday women to the mainstream.
