Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: I am Nakita Nicci, the Founder and CEO of Lanique Virtual Solutions (LVS). Lanique Virtual Solutions is a boutique call center dedicated to providing work from home opportunities to mothers and women with chronic illnesses as certified customer service agents. Our platform is the perfect work-life balance allowing our agents to take inbound customer service calls for our Fortune 500 companies, ear a decent living and work from home. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? As a mother currently battling lupus, I understand how difficult it is to maintain a stable career while fighting a disease, paying for the rising cost of medication and managing motherhood. In fact, I lost my career on a technicality regarding my health. I didn’t stress too much about it because I am a firm believer of creating a window, where there is no door. Motivated by my passion for problem solving, I started LVS, a platform that will allow our agents to set their own schedule, earn great revenue and eliminate the worry of job security.
What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? Before you get started, ask yourself; “why do I want to do this?” If the first thing that comes to mind is money - this is not for you. You have to do what makes you happy first. Now... don’t get me wrong, I have never met a dollar I didn’t like, but it wasn’t the key motivator to why I decided to start my business. Remember - success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Next, have you ever heard someone refer to their business as their “baby”? Well it’s true! Your business is like your child. It reflects the type of treatment it gets. If you treat your business like it’s your child, you will see the fruits of your labor. Also, ask yourself - do your clients trust you? Content builds relationships, relationships build trust and trust builds revenue. Lastly, make sure you are in-tune with the needs of your target audience. Sell the solution, not the problem. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: Once I officially launched Lanique (LVS), business took off very fast. I quickly became overwhelmed and unorganized. I had to take a step back and create a system for my workflow. I learned that creating a smooth system gave me the mental freedom to focus on my vision for my business more clearly. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? Our goal is to bring on 200 agents by the end of this year.
