Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: Yvette Thompson, CEO/Founder of Fadia Young Women's Program:
What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I always had a passion working with children. However, I was witnessing odd activity within our young girls. Knowing that they don't have any interest in role models anymore. If they did it wasn't quite your ideal role model in the industry. Transitioning their minds into positivity, being classy and letting them know it's okay to be successful in life is my goal. Also, I was the first in my family generation to accomplish many things in life to define that you don't have to be the property of your environment. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? Make sure that you are passionate and willing to take whatever comes your way. It isn't easy at all. Just make sure you always stay prayed up and take time out to yourself. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: When storms come my way I usually slow down and analyze what signal it's trying to give me. Pain has always given me strength to press forward. However, being humble and genuine is always a blessing too. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? We are in the process of expanding our youth program. Our girls in the program and going to take a lot more leardership by being the face of the program itself. Our website and marketing is going to rise so that our youth can be heard and noticed. We will also provide our services online even if you aren't in Akron, OH where we are located at.
