Introduce yourself and your profession to your readers. My name is Unique Walker. I am a wife, a mother of two sons, and a lifelong entrepreneur. After years of running a successful t-shirt business, I decided to share my blueprint with the women in my online community, and now, I coach women on their journeys to maximizing their potential and sharing their unique blueprints with the world. I am also a member of the Forbes Business Coaching Council. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest?
I have learned so many valuable things in my various entrepreneurial pursuits, but no lesson was more valuable than learning how to leverage the Internet to share my blueprint with other women. Social media connects us to people all over the world without ever having to take off our yoga pants and flip flops. I created online communities of other women, and I shared what I’d learned with them. I have a passion for helping women, and I am inspired by being limitless in my abilities to reach women from all different walks of life. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? My advice is simple: service over sales. When you focus more on how you can serve people than what you can sell them, the money will come, along with the fulfillment that you are spending your life providing a valuable service to those who need what only you can offer them. Focus on adding value to the lives of your community and your clients. Build genuine relationships with people, and surround yourself with a team of people who support you both personally and professionally. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it. One of my biggest challenges has been bouncing back after a huge set back in my personal life and a failed project. In 2012 my husband was sentenced to prison. I had a major project on the table and everything seemed to fall apart. Other people were involved as talent. Even through I had been a Entrepreneur all of my adult life, this project really failing publicly, hurt my business self-esteem. It was hard to jump back out there. It took lots of praying and having positive people around me, pushing me to get back out there. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? My advice to anyone who's facing a transitional season, valley season or corrective season is to keep some women of God around you. Women who pray and that will intercede on your behalf. Some real life "Kingdom Chics". Don't isolate yourself, talk to someone who can handle your truth and don't give the wrong people a front seat to you pain. This is so important. Everyone can't handle your truth. Pray and ask God to lead you to who can. It's harder to put yourself back out there if you feel over expose with the wrong people. Get back in the game. It's a tribe of women who need exactly who and what you are. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? I am currently building a community of women who are ready to take their businesses to the next level by sharing their intellectual property with others. I teach women how to achieve the freedom of working from home and building online communities. Through one-on-one coaching sessions, I am offering the expertise, the business planning, and the encouragement these women need to move into the next phase of their businesses. How can readers connect with you online and through social media? Readers can connect with me my joining my online community on Facebook . "Share Your BluePrint" and "Fashion Gig for Gals".
