Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: Hi there! Hello! Greetings. I am so excited to write this... I'm Tyra, former administrative and marketing corporate executive turned Professional Organizer and Chief Virtual Assistant behind The Posh Organization, LLC (TPO). In addition to that, I am a wife, mother of two cute little legacy kids, super awesome friend, daughter, sister and all around genuine person. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA and serving clients across the Nation, The Posh Organization was created to inspire and support savvy entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small to mid-sized businesses through executive-level Virtual Assistance, Organizing, Copy Writing, and Editing Services. The Posh Organization sets the bar in client care. I have structured my business to be a seamless extension of my Clients' businesses. Working in the background, we support our Client's dreams while simultaneously reaching our very own. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? The Posh Organization was created from my passion for organizing. Simply put, my propensity to organize is something that I was naturally born with. Being organized and helping others to get and stay organized was just my thing. Organization or the lack thereof affects so many different areas of our lives. From our homes, to our businesses, to our schedules and more.
I moved from Baltimore Maryland to pursue my degree in Business Management and Marketing at Clark Atlanta University. Once obtained, I set out to find employment in the Marketing field. After landing my first position sought, and over a decade of working in corporate America as an Executive Assistant to Marketing Coordinator to Office Manager, I was unsatisfied nor fulfilled in any of my roles. Don't get me wrong, I was earning good money, but I always wanted to work for myself, be in total control of my own schedule, and working for "the man" was not going to get me there. After being let go from a "job" that didn't suit my fancy anyway was when I decided enough was enough. My God given talent was my gift to the world, and my key to happiness and personal and professional success. After engrossing my self in social media and finding that there were other woman having large success in the Professional Organizing industry. I began doing my research, created and designed my website and went in to business for myself. While my business has transitioned from providing organizing services to Executive-level Virtual Assistance services and support, organizing is at the core of all of the services offered. My unique and wonderful Client's are what continues to inspire me. Their successes are my successes. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? You have to put in the work. Don't be afraid to be a beginner. You cannot expect for this entrepreneurial life to be glamorous, all the time. When everyone else is sleeping, you will be working. Find your passion and give it away for free (at first). Then the money will come. Once you discover your destiny, you will find fulfillment in life. Arguably one of the fastest growing industries in the world, Virtual Assistants are extremely high in demand. If this is the role you are after, ask yourself, what about you and your services is different from your competitors? In other words, what makes you unique? That will be your selling point and potentially your brand differentiator. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it. As an entrepreneur you will be faced with challenge after challenge, after challenge. Believe it or not, these challenges are necessary in your journey. These challenges are what make you work harder and feel that much better after you have overcome them. Professionally, I've dealt with male chauvinists who were intimidated by my capabilities and go-getter attitude. As an entrepreneur, I've been challenged with saying no to clients and opportunities that did not align with my business goals. In corporate America and as a start-up, sometimes you are forced to go after or accept almost anything for the sake of a paycheck. I've learned however that all money is not good money. And more times then not, forgoing your principals is the wrong decision. I've overcome these challenges by making strategic goals, realizing my process and staying in my lane. What is next for your brand/business in 2018? Scaling. Business is good and I am so grateful. In 2018 I am planning for exponential growth. I am learning what steps I need to take in order to scale my business and increase my team of Virtual Assistance to take on more Clients. My goal is to become the go-to Virtual Assistance Organization in Atlanta and Nationally. I will continue to provide my Clients with exceptional care, experiences and end-products. This is The Posh Organization - "It's all About the Experience - Just Different". How can readers connect with you online and through social media. Readers! Thank you for reading my story.
