Please introduce yourselves and tell us about the Business Bestie network:
Arlean: Arlean started this journey back in 2014. When Arlean said YES! to her purpose she didn't have a dime to her name. She knew nothing about event production, marketing, budgeting, PR. What She did know that if God gave it to her He would see her through. Arlean learned the importance of networking and building positive relationships. There have been many ups and downs on this journey but the ups outweigh the bad. Everyday is a new day for me to get it right. Having someone their to help you wade through the deep is what it's all about. On her darkest days her faith has carried her the furthest. The countless rejections. The endless Nos. Overcoming adversity. When people counted her out. When you don't get the support from family and friends. From that Arlean learned the importance of building her own support system. Who knew this was all in preparation for Arlean to gain an accountability partner known as her Business Bestie. And together they founded The Business Bestie Network. Arlean is super excited to launch this business venture with her and even more excited to help women grow their business and their network Follow Arlean on social media @arleantimmons Sygie: Sygie Sumlin Jackson is the creator of SygieSays.com an online community for mommy- preneaurs and all around EXTRAordinary women and the founder of Be You. Be Great. Be Beautiful. She is a Mom, Wife, and Entrepreneur. Sygie developed a passion for writing at a very young age. The idea of SygieSays.com was developed after the birth of her second child in 2013. Ironically, after returning back to work from maternity leave she began to feel unfulfilled and unhappy with her job and her life. She knew she was born to do more than eat, sleep, and work. She dreamed of a community that empowered women and young girls that provided them with the tools to achieve all that they could dream of. Sygie explains that she is very ambitious and dedicated to helping others find their "something" in their lives. "We rise by lifting others", a quote by Robert Ingersol is one of Sygie's favorite quotes and is said to be the philosophy in which she aims to model her businesses and her life. Sygie has mastered the art of balancing what she has to do, what she needs to do, and what she wants to do. She wants to show moms, wives and women entrepreneurs that they can have it all by holding them accountable while holding their hands. Follow Sygie on all social media @SygieSays. What inspired you to collaborate on this initiative? Arlean: We started having weekly calls and literally the rest is history. We understood that we needed each other and together we could achieve more and reach those goals. Whether it was good or bad we are each other's support to get through it all. We motivate, encourage, uplift and empower each other to do our very best in all that we do. We share knowledge and just about everything that we know. Most importantly we put each other on. We are like: Salt n Pepper Peanut Butter and Jelly Grits and Eggs Ketchup and Mustard Patty Melt and Hashbrowns We just go together. Sygie: I truly believe 2 heads are better than one. Initially, Arlean and I began meeting every week to discuss what happened, our plans for the upcoming week...and sometimes just to vent. We began to notice how much more we were accomplishing and how much more clear our goals and objectives were just from discussing it with one another. In less than 90 days, I was able to host my first event (it sold out!) and that was the launching pad to my consulting business. Eventually we started referring to each other as “the business bestie”. In a society where women collaboration is mostly non existent or is frowned upon we want to show women that there is power in connection and you don't have to suffer in silence or grow without inspiration.
