What inspired you to become a CEO?
I don’t think I was ever inspired to become a CEO. However, I was more so inspired to find my purpose in life, to do something that natural flowed out of me, that brought joy to my life, honored God, and helped others. As I began to pursue those things I was then inspired to turn it into a business and become the CEO I am today. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say? Good question, I would tell my self to not treat my business like a hobby, people only take you as serious as you take yourself. Charge for your experience, you’ve taken the time and money to perfect your craft—charge what your worth. Find a business mentor to help avoid some of the simple mistakes. With this being the month of love, how do you feel self-love affects our entrepreneur journey? It’s easy to forget about your self as you grind to get where you desire to be. Being intentional with self-care will allow you to show up as your best self and provide the best energy and experience for you and your clients. Self-care goes beyond the regular scheduled mani and pedi appointment, it’s also attending to your mental, emotional, and spiritual care. Taking the time to sit and observe your state of being to do the necessary work is self-care. You can not pure from an empty cup. What are you looking forward to most in 2020? I am looking forward to expanding the Don’t Block Your Bloom community by continuing to foster a sisterhood of empowerment, love, support and security for women through the stages of their individual journeys.
