Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: Hi Glambitious sisters! My name is Brandi Marsh, a little fun fact about me is that I have an identical twin sister and we were born on the best birthday ever “Valentine’s Day! I am a devoted Christian woman, youth leader and all around fun gal! I have a Master Degree from California State University, Long beach and serve as a community college counselor in the beautiful, Santa Monica, California. I absolutely love my job and being that change agent to help students find their path in life. Presently, my career path is in the field of education; God is definitely redefining what I call my “purpose-path.” I am still working as a counselor, but at the beginning of this year I started my Non-Profit Organization, Ebony and Pink Pearls. The mission of Ebony and Pink Pearls is to affirm women of all ages to know who they are in Christ; and to empower them to walk in purity, prayer and purpose. Taking the faith step to start my own business has been a ball of emotions, (excitement, joy and, full, etc.) Despite the unknown of where this business may take me, I am extremely passionate and absolutely love the purpose path God is leading for my life. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest?
The core values of Ebony and Pink Pearls focuses on purity, purpose and prayer. What inspired me to pursue this area of interest stemmed from my own triumphs and defeats in these areas as it relates to my personal relationship with God. Through many test and trials, God gave me a vision to start an organization to encourage women to stand bold in purity, prayer and purpose. I believe being transparent and sharing your life with other women, only motivates and allows them to feel brave to share their own life journey as well. In my life I have struggled in each of these areas (purity, prayer and purpose). But instead to holding my head down, I choose to hold my head up and open my mouth and speak out. I am completely unashamed to share my truth, if it will break the silence of others and reach a generation of women be empowered to know the truth of who they are in Christ! I totally believe the word of God when it states, “when you know the truth, the truth will set you FREE.!” What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? Start! You cannot wait until you have everything all together before you move on the things God puts in your heart. Second, trust God completely as you are working your business. Always remember, where God guides he will always provide. (I.e. financial resources, creative ideas, mentors, and networks) to help you pursue your purpose. And finally, pray daily about the vision and mission of your business, and even if your vision only touches the heart of one soul you have done your job! Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: The professional and personal challenge glambitious sisters that I overcame is that paralyzing emotion called FEAR. Prior to starting Ebony and Pink Pearls, I was so caught up in my own emotions and insecurities it completely debilitated me to moving forward on this awesome vision!. How I overcome or what I like to say dismantled fear was through PRAYER. It was through my prayer time with lord is why prayer became one of the core values of Ebony and Pink Pearls. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? I am currently working on some new projects that I hope to have complete by the end of this year 2017 (I.e. website, books, t-shirts etc.) In the interim, I love to network and connect with others that share my visions.
