1. Please introduce yourself and business to our readers:
I am Amy Brown. I am the owner of Creatives Legal, a law firm that helps innovators promote and protect the products of their creativity. I am also the owner of Nashville Injury Law where we help injured victims receive maximum compensation after an accident. I am a single mom of two beautiful children, Jonas 7 and Lourdes 3.
2. What inspired you to pursue the legal field?
Freedom. I wanted to be a part of a profession that allowed me to be actively involved in any area that I was passionate about. The law effects every aspect of life. If you like fashion, there are lawyers that handle that. If you like sports there are lawyers that handle that. So being a lawyer really allows you to pursue your passions. Also being a law firm owner allows me to create a flexible schedule that works for my family. I love that my work helps other entrepreneurs craft the lives they want to live as well.
3. What 3 tips would you share with entrepreneurs regarding protecting their brand?
START TODAY! I’ll say that again, start today! You don’t have to have everything figured out, but you need to safeguard your ideas before someone else does. Most proprietary rights are given to the person who is first in time, so even if you are still forming your business it is best to reserve your business name and get trademark protection now.
4. What is next for you and your business?
We are rapidly growing and looking forward to doing some educational work in the community. We have several seminars coming soon. We will also be making some educational resources available in the near future.
