Hello, I am Tiffany Robertson owner of SWEAR NYC. SWEAR NYC was started from a place of pain. I was in a domestic marriage, dealt in so much stress I ended up with alopecia and developed my line by reverting back to my childhood home remedies that grew my hair and made it thick. My mommy helped me with that. SWEAR NYC wasn’t started right away. I spent 5 years of research before launching my idea and that research gave me hope to really move forward and focus on my purpose despite what I was currently going through in my personal life. I knew I had to do something greater with myself and I did. And I birthed SWEAR NYC because I was mentally and emotionally ready to go full force with it without giving up.
Describe what makes you a Creative CEO:
What makes me a creative CEO is that I do all my marketing content. I come up with concepts and execute my vision. My son is my graphic artist. My daughter is my videographer and I put it together. My best friend is my photographer SWEAR NYC is really a family affair and I treat my consumers as such. I am accessible. I want SWEAR NYC Hair to feel like home to consumers especially since it is a product consumer bring home and entrust my brand to use on their hair. I really connect with my consumers, they will dm me questions and I respond. They need 1 on 1 tutorials on hair care products or applying lashes I make time to help them. I want consumers to feel valued and I take pride in customer service part. I want to feel as connected to consumers as they are to my product even if we never met. I really take my time and do my due diligence to appease consumer’s need.
What major business lesson did you learn in 2020?
I learned in 2020 that even when the world stops, you don’t! Evolving with the times no matter how hard it gets is a must. You either rise or fold to the occasion. My business really thrived in COVID-19 because people were force to do their own hair and stores were closed so they had no choice but to order online for hair care. This allowed the visibility of SWEAR NYC to be seen more. People were more interested in caring for their hair more than ever and once they tried it, they loved and I gained more recurring consumers more than ever due to COVID-19. Once businesses and stores started opening and running again, I had to adapt to the changes of people going back to the hair salons and using their hair stylist products. But the time of us sitting down for so long allowed people to really see how much SWEAR NYC products has helped them with their hair growth or healthy hair journey and I as so happy to be apart and witness their hair care journey.
Any 2-3 tips you can share with readers to help them win in 2021?
Share a bit of your vision and plans for this year:
My vision is really to grow my audience/consumer base and get SWEAR NYC in a US retail market. My products are already in retailers in an international market, United Kingdom & Canada but I really want to expand in the US. I really want to take SWEAR NYC to the next level & share my hard work of my SWEAR NYC to the World. SWEAR NYC is really an incredible natural ingredient hair care product. We plan on focusing on the overall wellness and will be dropping a new sector of SWEAR NYC very soon.
