Describe what makes you a Creative CEO:
Having a Master of Music degree with emphasis in Vocal Performance in opera and jazz and a Bachelor of Business Management degree, has given me the skill set to direct and manage my own indie record label and brand, since 2015 while executively producing and writing each of my 3 records |
-The Standard Reimagined (2015)
-From the DEEP (2017) and...
-Better Angels (2019/2020)
Additionally, I self-published my first book of poetry and prose |
-Musings from the Mind of a Mezzo: passion, pain and plight (2015)
And finally, I'll be launching my next passion project, this month, March 2020 |
-The VOCALIST Series by EPP, a line of lifestyle products: jewelry, loungewear and accessories specifically for classically trained vocalists
Many people don't realize that there exists the music business AND the BUSINESS of music. If properly structured, you can make a living both on and off the stage.

What major business lesson did you learn in 2020?
2020 has taught me to be resilient and patient but also strategic in my brand management and building business systems for longevity. Have your business systems, infrastructures set up so that you're generating revenue while you sleep, even during a pandemic. But as importantly, I had not stopped to reflect on just how much I had accomplished, thus far. You know, smell the proverbial roses! A global pandemic will certainly force one into a space of stillness. The time, the hiatus was not necessary. It gave my brain time to re-center, re-charge, rejuvenate and restore my artistic juices and business acumen! Afterall, I AM my brand.
Any 2-3 tips you can share with readers to help them win in 2021?
1) Learn to SIT in your successes, relish them! You've earned it: the comfort and the financial stability.
2) Age old concept but true... What is for you, IS for you! Never base your current station or trajectory on another's.
3) INVEST in yourself- first! Whether it's financial investing, establishing business systems that help generate income (while you sleep) or self-care, you must be full and whole for YOU, before you can do so for anyone else.
Especially as women, we must be our own, biggest cheerleader. My mantra(s)/ hashtags to live by |
