The biggest night of the year is here and somehow the stars aligned for you to be home alone. Whether by choice or force, spending NYE alone can feel a little crazy. While couples and party goers are all chummy and ready to celebrate, you may be at home wondering what in the heck to do this evening to avoid feeling lonely or like you're missing out on something grand. Check out our list below of things to do at home alone tonight!! 1. Do a Youtube workout in the living room! Even if you worked out this morning, doing a dance workout video in your living room will add a little fun variety to this evening. Try the video below, its only 20 minutes or so! 2. Listen to a Youtube sermon from Pastor John Jenkins or a motivational message from Tony Robbins. With a new year upon us, feeding yourself some positivity can be just what you need to hear to get you revved up for a prosperous and exciting 2017. 2016 was a rollercoaster for most of us, and you don't want to enter the new year with any mental baggage. Check out the videos below! 3. Disconnect from Social Media until Monday!
Looking at what everyone else is doing tonight, will leave you with a case of the FOMO (fear of missing out). If you're single, seeing the couples kiss at midnight will annoy you. If your finances are strapped, seeing someone bring in the New Year from Greece will agitate you....... and so on (you get my drift). So pledge to disconnect from social media to Monday. Spend today focusing on your plans for the New Year, cleaning up the house, decluttering, creating a bag for goodwill of all the clothes you no longer wear etc. 4. Create a Gratitude List Start with January 2016 and think about all of the amazing things that happened for you this year. Did you meet any new friends or get rid of any bad ones? Be grateful! Did you explore something new professionally or travel? Be grateful! Do you have family that loved and supported you this year? Do you have your arms, legs, a place to live, food to eat and a car to drive? Be Grateful! 5. Do Some Online Shopping! Not just for clothes but for professional resources that can enhance your skills in 2017! Learning new skills can save you money and allow you to add more value to the services you offer your clients or even at your 9-5. To enhance your income or grow your business, you have to do something different than what you did in 2016. Take a few webinars or download some books! We have a ton in our shop, so click here and enjoy!

My name is Vanessa Parker and I am a wife, mother and serial business owner. I own several businesses. I own PinkBoss, an online resource for women in business. I also co-own Divas In Defense and Shock 'Em Girl with my husband. Last but not least I co-own vTea with my mentor. I believe that you have to have multiple streams of income and I am making sure I am building my empire one day at a time. Each business has a mission to empower women. I believe my super power is connecting and empowering women and I strive to do that each and every day. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? This area of interest found me. I never wanted to become an entrepreneur. I had a side hustle that later turned into my full-time job and I have been motivated by entrepreneurship since. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? Stop overthinking and do it scared. We stand in our own ways. We all get scared and we all want things to be perfect but the truth is we are all winging it and figuring it out. Don't waste time worrying and waiting. You have everything you need to be successful. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: Feeling like a fraud. The imposter syndrome is real. Overcoming it has been a challenge but going through it has allowed me to help others. The feeling that you will be found out that you have had success based on luck or a fluke. We have to remind ourselves that we have a hand in our success. Our hard work and determination allows us a seat at the table. I overcame my imposter syndrome by talking about it and being transparent. By talking to other women I was able to find solutions that fit my personality. For example, I have a "brand board" of things that I have accomplished over the years. This helps me to see my successes in one place. We tend to forget our wins both big and small because we are so focused on what is next. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? I recently (like 2 days ago) transitioned my business of one on one coaching and business development services to a blog. Some might think it is crazy but the one thing I know is my strength is being resourceful. I wanted to provide a platform to provide those resources. I am also launching my first ebook and I plan to publish a book this year. My book "You are Not a Fraud" will focus on providing women with the resources for managing their imposter syndrome. Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: My name is Osayi Emokpae Lasisi and I am the Queen of helping you get attention and make money online. I am the founder of the MoneyMaking Mommies Academy (over 2000 members) - where I help women to develop online products that make money (with a focus on starting with ebooks). I am the Convener of the wildly successful MoneyMaking Transition Virtual Summit and the 2X Bestselling Author of the Billionaire Mindset (for MoneyMaking Mommies), and 7 Days to the MoneyMaking Good Life. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? Would you believe that I am a licensed attorney?! Well I worked in North Carolina for a few years but I wasn't feeling fulfilled, I found myself feeling lost and discouraged all the time. You know that feeling where you don't want to go to work, and when you leave the office you're too exhausted to do anything? Well that was what I had to deal with - this led me to the journey of looking for what makes sense for me. I spent time trying to figure out what would bring me joy and went as far back as exploring things I enjoyed doing as a child. I took some creative writing classes, taught some creative writing classes, started a blog on the side...and for some reason decided to write a book. That book - Impossible is Stupid - changed my life. It opened doors for me that I never expected. And most importantly, this work (no matter how challenging it was) made my heart sing...so I knew I needed to help people to feel this kind of exhilaration as well - to know that Writing a book can help you create the kind of life you desire. My name is Natasha "Tottie" Weston and I am an author, motivational speaker, Visual Brandologist at The Tottie Brand and Founder of Confessions of an Ambitious Girl. I help creatives and young professionals to make their brands visually appealing through social media and in the digital space. I also focus on the "how tos" of entrepreneurship. The other part of my career is motivational speaking. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? Years ago, I would always get bombarded with questions on how I started my first business and how to make it professionally and visually appealing without breaking the bank. It started with my first book, "10 Effective Ways to Start Your Business with 0 Dollars," and now my day to day consists of showing, teaching and creating visuals for my millennial friends! On the other hand, motivation is something that I'm super passionate about. After becoming an author, I started getting more requests to share my story publicly. I've been hooked ever since. I get my true fulfillment from seeing others lives transform from something positive that I've said. There's just no greater feeling! What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? Branding in general seems to be the "it" trend, but my advice is to only dip your hands in this pot if you have the eye and creativity. I've seen way too many "brand specialist" with unappealing and uninteresting branding. As a motivational speaker, my advice to someone who wants to become one is to start right now where you are. Often times we think that our lives have to be perfect to open our mouths and share our stories but it doesn't. If you want to eventually get paid to speak, you'll need to build a digital resume. This means, utilize the free tools that are out here like Facebook Live, Periscope or Snapchat to creatively share your message. Leave a digital trace so that people will learn you, trust you, and then share you with the world! Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it. One professional challenge I had was one of the most obvious, especially as a female entrepreneur. Charging what I was worth. For a long time, I couldn't grow my business properly because I was nickel and diming it for the sake of just making enough money to pay a bill or two. When I finally got fed up with being overworked and underpaid, I increased my rates and the clients who didn't see my value fled. The BEST decision ever! What is next for your brand/business in 2017? In 2017, my plan is to continue to push my message via video and my podcast Table Talk with Tottie. My ultimate goal is to continue to travel, speak and build a lifestyle brand to motivate millennials all over the world who've lost hope and feel counted out. How can readers connect with you online and through social media? I am Brittany Garth, also known as Life Coach Brittany! I am a certified women empowerment life coach,TEDx speaker, international speaker and founder of the DW Life Coach Network. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I worked in the field of mental health and clinical counseling for nearly 10 years and I only had one goal in mind professionally and personally. I wanted to get married by 25 and become a program director of a non-profit agency. Once my engagement ended and I had fulfilled the goal of becoming a program director, I realized that I was not fulfilled as I had hoped and was facing financial ruin after the company was unable to pay my staff or myself for months. After months of non-payment, I lost all of my staff, depleted my bank account to pay the mortgage on my new house and became “broken”-emotionally, financially and spiritually. Nearly facing homelessness, motivated me to write out a plan of action to create a business that was dedicated to empowering women in need of support. As I began to share my journey on social media, I quickly learned that there were thousands of women who had similar struggles and found inspiration in my story. As I began building my clientele and having numerous speaking engagements within my first year in business, I knew coaching was my God given gift and passion. My struggle story turned into a 6 figure business within a matter of 2 years and has afforded me the ability to work with over 100 women annually, create a life coach school with national and international students and publish my first book on my journey to stardom as an entrepreneur. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? I encourage aspiring life coaches to ensure they are passionate about actually helping others in need of support. As a life coach you are inserting yourself into someone else's life and not having the skill set or passion for the field can impact a client greatly. Also, I would recommend that individuals considering the field of coaching to take a course or certification program to build upon their skills. The more you know about the field, the better outcomes are created for potential clients. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: In the first year of business, I noticed a lack of support from other coaches and a lack of resources available to elevate professionals in this field. After realizing that there was not a professional association specifically for life coaches that promoted unity instead of competition, I decided to open up my own life coaching school for aspiring coaches and develop the first global life coach network. The DW Life Coach Network is a completely free membership for coaches that provides promotion, resources and networking opportunities. I felt like it was a network that was needed to promote unity and provide free resources to advance other likeminded coaches. We have grown to over 300 plus members globally since launching in February of 2016. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? In 2017, we plan to continue to grow the Dimensioned Wellness brand in international markets and build upon or corporate partnerships. In addition to providing empowerment and business coaching services, we were able to contract with several state departments to provide community based training and services to women through psycho-social groups. Next year, we plan to create more jobs for coaches through our partnerships nationally and internationally. Our 4-week program for life coaching school quickly grew as our staple service for Dimensioned Wellness and we plan to debut a 6 week program and offer free tuition to 3 students in Ghana and Nigeria. How can readers connect with you online and through social media: Readers can connect with Dimensioned Wellness online by visiting www.dimensionedwellness.com or on all Facebook and Instagram @DimensionedWellness or @TheLifeCoachNetwork Created as an innovative network for female entrepreneurs to connect, empower, and educate one another, the GlambitiousIAM.com hub has grown to include a plethora of unique business resources and professional development webinars. I am Altimese Nichole, Co-founder & President of NicholeNicole Vintage Boutique and a brand strategist for global brands. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? My friend and business partner (Nicole Mercedes) and I have always been close since the age of 14. We’ve experienced life together-- through highschool, college ( twice), marriages, and now children. While in my mid-twenties, I stopped caring about the fashion trends and just did my own thing. I found myself sharing my love for individual style with my friend and business partner, Nicole daily. Surprisingly, the vision of our boutique was birthed by our husbands and the planning/building process started shortly after. I want to shift my generation and my family and start the foundation springboard that will allow my children’s babies to begin their lives not with financial burdens—but with true freedom; owing no man (or woman) nothing but to love them. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? My advice is to trust God and his plan--- then go. Focus on your steps, not the big picture because it can get overwhelming if you keep your eyes on the big picture. Concentrate on taking one step at a time and you will see that God will take care of the rest. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: Very early in my career, I experienced I situation where my manager openly expressed jealousy toward me. I desired a promotion but I kept getting turned down after making it to the final round. I couldn’t understand why and then I realized it was company policy that managers speak to one another internally before the final offer. I prayed. I cried, then prayed more. He told me to clean my out desk and write my resignation letter before getting an offer. I wrote the letter, put a date on it, saved it in my files and cleaned my desk. It was late one night when everyone left the office I was literally shaking with fear and my weeping echoed in the empty office. I didn’t understand and I didn’t want anyone to notice my empty desk—but I kept going. I drowned out the noise of opinions and self- doubt and I finally got promoted to a role that fulfilled a big dream of mine. The offer came a few days after the date I wrote on the resignation letter saved in my files. It was such a clear reminder that what is yours—no one on this earth can take it away from you. God’s plan will happen on this earth even if we derail, take side streets, or decide to stop at the pity party station. His word is true—just trust him, drown out the noise (even if it comes from yourself), and go. What is next for your brand/business in 2016? With the recent launch of NicholeNicole Vintage Boutique, I realized that every single role throughout my career has prepared me for this moment. I was in PR for 7 years and transitioned to marketing—and have led social strategies for top Fortune 500 companies with global recognition. In the midst of launching the boutique with my partner (Nicole Mercedes), I am also starting a brand coaching business that helps women entrepreneurs learn the power of proper branding and writing my first book, (to be released in 2017). My name is Nicole Mercedes. I am the co-founder and Vice President of NicholeNicole Vintage Boutique, Leader of No Excuse Mom, Akron, Ohio chapter and a Health & Fitness enthusiast, in progress. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. From childhood, my parents instilled in me the value of hard work. Watching my father start his own business and my Mom work hard to finish her degree, it was those moments that I realized that I wanted to help people and also start my own business. When I entered into adulthood, weight management was a personal struggle for me. After having my first child, I realized a change was needed and it became my mission to help other women love themselves as they are but also pushing themselves to become their better selves. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? I would encourage them to follow their heart, don’t be afraid to take risks and work hard. It’s extremely important to have a support system behind you because when it gets tough and you want to give up, those will be the ones front row, cheering you on and pushing you forward. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: While obtaining my Master’s degree in Information Technology, I interned at a fashion company in their IT department. After graduation, they hired me full-time. Though very excited, I felt like the CIO of the department was not very fond of me and gave me a hard time whenever possible. I was determined to prove that I deserved the position so every day I worked really hard and learned the things that I didn’t know and I ended up being their best technician. What is next for your brand/business in 2016? With the recent launch of NicholeNicole Vintage Boutique with my business partner Altimese Nichole, it is my goal to continue to push women to excel in every aspect of their lives. With my involvement in No Excuse Mom, I want to continue to find my place in the fitness realm. In 2017, I will be working on re-launching my Nicole Mercedes fitness/motivation blog and creating a hub for women full of motivation, guidance on fitness, healthy living and parenting tips. I am a Multiple Bestselling Author, Publisher, Speaker, "Empowerologist," and affectionately known as "Dr. Adair.” I am also a leading authority on motivating, inspiring and empowering individuals to move towards positive change, become resilient and to bounce back after hitting rock bottom. I specialize in helping women and teens build their confidence levels to become equipped and empowered to pursue their passion to persevere in their purpose. Four years ago I decided to leave my six-figure income job after 26 years, so I could follow my next dream of becoming a published author and creating my businesses. I then created The Empowerment House where I coachwomen and teens through life changes. I teach them how to operate and thrive in spite of their circumstances, and I shares techniques that helps them empower themselves to “push through the pain” in their lives and become successful individuals. As the creator of The BELIEVE and GO HARD systems, I impart strategies that focus on leadership skills, creating a healthy balance, fulfilling dreams, and reaching destiny points. Also, I created The Johnson Tribe Publishing House (JTP), a full-service publishing boutique agency that empowers, engages, inspires, motivates, promotes and teaches authors the skills of writing and publishing their books. As a State University of New York at Buffalo graduate who earned a Ph.D., a Certificate of Advanced Studies and a Master’s degree, I have provided motivational, creative, and unique services for over twenty years. I also created an empowerment and resiliency curriculum for teens. This program is aligned with the National Common Core Standards as well as the American School Counselor Association National Model. I have also collaborated with The Still Standing Foundation to create “Teen Dating Violence, Unhealthy Relationships, and Academic Achievement: The Power of Connection.” This is a comprehensive and informative counseling/educationalprogram for youth. As a Professional School Counselor of the Year, Writer of the Year and Women in the Spotlight Visionary Award recipient, I have also been featured in POSE and BOLD magazines, several national and international radio shows and I am the recipient of several academic and civic awards. As the author of “White Girl Speaks! Powerful Words of Inspiration for Leadership and Success in your Life,” "How to Get Over It! in 30 Days Parts I, II, and III” “Get Over It! How to Bounce Back After Hitting Rock Bottom” and “Get Over It! How to Bounce Back After Hitting Rock Bottom for Teens,” I focus on teaching women how tobecome empowered, resilient and ready to make positive changes in their lives. As an international motivational speaker, I have been able to touch the lives of thousands through my teachings, words and motivational messages. I have been married for twenty-six years, am the proud mother of five children, my life mantra is “I am. I can. I will. I do.” and I seek to share this positive outlook on every person I meet. What inspired your interest in this pursuit? Oh my, this is a challenging question because there was not just one thing that inspired me. I think it really was just me finally listening to the words that God had been speaking to me for a very long time. I knew for a while that I was “done” in my journey as a Professional School Counselor, but I kept holding on because it was convenient, the “money was good,” and it was a comfortable and familiar position to be in. I struggled within myself about making a change, but it was fear that stagnated my growth and limited my possibilities of making any changes in my life. I had a persistent “fear of the unknown” and did not allow myself to learn and follow the path that God had already created for me. I always believed that God orders my steps, but I struggled with accepting my new journey. But you know what, “life happened.” A very close cousin of mine suddenly passed away…She was in the “prime” of her life with many more dreams to fulfill. This knocked the wind out of me but then allowed me to recognize that I had to “trust my own wings” if I were going to soar into my next dream. And that is what I did. I began to plan, trust and believe and then I was able to pursue my passion. What do you enjoy most about your work? The feeling I get when my words touch the spirit of someone else and perhaps makes a difference in the choices and changes they will make in their lives. I love it when I write a motivational message, email or post it and people respond and let me know that they believe that I was writing for them or speaking directly to them. Words are perhaps the most powerful method of communication and to be able to positively impact or influence someone else because of the words that I use really brings joy to my heart. I know that my ability to motivationally speak and write are gifts and I absolutely love that I am able to share my gifts to the world! What is next for you in 2017? My next book, “How to Get Over It in 30 Days” Part II, will be released this month and I collaborated with a partner and created a Teen Dating Violence curriculum. Based on these two projects I will spend a lot of time presenting at professional conferences, working with teens to teach them about healthy relationships, self-esteem, anger management, leaderskills, etc. and motivating and inspiring women. I plan to accomplish these goals through multiple speaking engagements and coordinated youth programs. What advice do you have to ladies that are feeling stuck in various facets of their life? Oh my! You just have to learn how to “Get Over It!” In order to accomplish this you must embrace the ideology that you must first “Change the way you think before you can change the way you behave.” This concept was introduced to me by the writings of Carter G. Woodson in his book “The Miseducation of the Negro.” I studied Mr. Wilson while completing my doctoral studies and this statement (this is the shortened version) illuminated within me because I realize that much of life and choices is about your mindset. In order to implement real changes in your life, you have to believe that the changes are necessary. If you make a change in your behavior but not in your mindset you are more likely to return to that previous behavior. We see it all the time with addiction. Individuals will attend therapy, go through the motions but never really believe in the concepts so when it gets tough, and they are challenged, it’s easier for them to slide back into the addictive behavior. It’s like putting band-aids on gunshot wounds…Yes, it may stop the bleeding for a minute, but then it will become infected, and the wound will never heal if surgery is not done. If we don’t do the surgery on our mindsets then, our behavior will never really change and that’s how we get “stuck.” I’ve learned over the course of time that a “confused mind does nothing” so if we are confused then we are paralyzed by fear to make change and we become stuck. I would say to the ladies that first begin with your mindset. Change that and then create your action plan to make changes and then you will eventurally become “unstuck.” I created two plans that focus on moving towards positive change and becoming “unstuck.” Through these systems I teach women strategies that focus on overcoming odds, controlling anger, creating healthy balances, forgiving techniques, building dreams and reaching destiny points – many of the needed things to becom unstuck. G.O.H.A.R.D. G: Getting over yourself O: Overcoming your odds H: Hesitancy, Heart, Honesty, Hustling and a healthy balance A: Anger and Artillery R: Remembrance, Resilience, Restoration, Renewal and Righteousness D: Dreams, Depth, and Destiny B.E.L.I.E.V.E. B = Birth Control E = Emancipation L = Listening and Leadership I = Inner Integrity E = Evolution of Emotions V = Victory and Victorious E = Ending Recognizing, understanding and including all of these concepts will propel women towards changes in their lives and help them to become “unstuck.” How can readers connect with you online/social media? What inspired you to create this unique show platform? Going through many challenges in life, I realized I had a purposeful voice; additionally, I realized there were other women who had a purposeful voice as well. In 2012, I was doing a hip-hop show and a talk show at the same time and I felt like I really wasn't walking in my purpose. I felt like I was becoming robotic, not connecting with individuals, especially women, so I set out to re-locate to Atlanta, Georgia and started my own radio show. We've been on-air for over 3 years now! Who are some of the guests you've had on the show so far? Hmmmm, we've had: Singer/Actress V. What advice would you have for readers interested in starting a radio show? I would say… Start with a podcast, blog talk radio, or an online radio segment so that you're able to build up an audience and community of listeners. Once you have people interested in your show and have established a network of supporters, seek to gain sponsorships. Then “pitch” the show to a small station within your local community. Shoot for the moon either way! Tell us about your new Power Breakfast Series: The “Power Breakfast” is a quarterly and intimate Girl Power Hour networking experience with roughly 20-25 women in attendance each session. Our goal is to help entrepreneurial women develop and build relationships, in addition to learning different ways to grow their enterprises while serving their communities. So far, we've had over 160 women attend our Power BreakfastSeries since it initially began in 2016. What is next for you in 2016? I am in my third year with Girl Power Hour Radio and I am so blessed, given all of our accomplishments so far! My goal is to diversify the platform, so that women of any: Race, Faith, and Age demographic can connect and become engaged with our platform, feeling as if they have a true sisterhood. How can readers connect with you online or “pitch” the show for interview opportunities? Connect with me online by following Girl Power Houron: Instagram @GirlPowerHour, Twitter & Periscope @GirlPower_Hour, and Facebook at Girl Power Hour Radio. If you are interested in being a guest, I recommend filling out the contact form via our website www.girlpowerhourradio.com. Kecia J is a woman who has been through it all but turned her testimony into triumph! I am an author, HIV/AIDS Educator, International Speaker & Truth Strategist that focuses on helping the masses get to the blueprint of their truth. A lot of challenges that are faced amongst those who are trying to the next level in life or struggling to get out of a dark hole ties heavily to the issue of not tapping into their own truth and tackling the true issues at hand. What inspired you to build this type of brand? After being diagnosed 10 years ago with AIDS I realized that there were a lot of truths that I failed to adhere to in my life. Moreover, I aligned true self esteem and self worth with material things. I looked around and noticed that the exact world around me that I was in with the entertainment industry had a lot of women fighting through those same struggles. I knew that there was more to me and my purpose than just to manage artists and take their lives to the next level. The vision I would have daily would be to save lives and empower and what better way to do that than to be a walking transparent vessel and live through my truths and educate! From that formula, there created the I AM Kecia J brand and now legacy. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? The key factor in pursuing a role of empowerment is TRUTH! Before one can fully take on a journey as such it is important that they are fully living and walking firmly in their truth! To whom much is given more is require and will get strength and courage from your brand or story behind the imagery they see and it is important to Embrace, Embody, and EMPOWER just that! Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: During the time of me working in the entertainment industry it became a task to live in my truth but still adhere to the image that the lifestyle and those watching want you to be in line with. The challenges that I faced during that time were weighing me down mentally and physically. I realized that I had to pick a side. Either it was going to be to make those around me happy or take control of my inner peace and happiness and choose ME and that is exactly what I did. What is next for your brand/business in 2016? The brand has some amazing things in store that will roll over into the new year. With the HIV/AIDS rates being that of a 3rd world country in Atlanta, GA and 87% of the population are now infected, it is my mission to launch a Kecia Kares Resource Center Mobile Unit that will hit the city March 2017! I am also one of the new faces of Walgreens and its upcoming National campaign, so there is so many great things that will be coming from the I Am Kecia J brand that will help the lives of many! What should readers know about World AIDS Day? The goal is for readers to understand that World AIDS Day is a “day” but what this day should do is open the door for the masses to educate themselves on an epidemic that is taking over our communities 365 days a year. Lets not just observe this one day, but let us take notice of the lives we have lost but moreover, the ones that can be saved if we make World AIDS Day a daily piece of dialogue. I hope that readers will also take my story as visual knowledge to know that life does not end at a positive diagnosis! Yes, I do have AIDS, but those letters are just apart of my medical record, not a determining factor of the life I am destined to lead. How can readers connect with you online and through social media You can find out everything about Kecia J on my website www.iamkeciaj.com! I can also be found on all social media outlets @iamkeciaj!
