Tell us a bit about yourself and business journey:
I have always been a boss & an entrepreneur. At the age of 9, I started a babysitting business and the rest was history. Now as a wife & mother of 6, I own a thriving empire, that includes companies in the transportation industry, real estate, coaching, and direct marketing industries. Being a boss, especially a lady boss, is not all roses. My journey has been riddled with failures and ugliness. Loss of friends & family, etc. but I wouldn't trade this ride for the world. The rewards greatly outnumber the sacrifices if you stay the course.

Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be successful. I wasn't quite sure how that would look but I knew the life I wanted would be BIG! I remember it like yesterday the day I walked into my purpose. I always wanted to be a teacher but never in a million years did I dream of owning and operating a daycare. I started the journey at age 19 and for eleven years I have poured my all into my childcare program. My name is Lashanda I am also known as the Daycare Diva. When I began my childcare program in 2009 I knew I wanted to pursue a purpose much bigger than the space I had. I decided not to let that stop me. I decided not to let my space dictate how I would operate my program. I started a home base childcare business in an apartment on the second floor. I didn't think that I would get approved but I put my best foot forward and here we are eleven years later. Thankful Please introduce yourself and tell us about your latest efforts.

Stop looking at whether the glass is half-full or half-empty. Just be thankful there is something in it. How do you stay motivated during transitional seasons? I allow others to pour into me- being honest when I need help or when I feel disconnected. Isolation is never good. Reaching out for support, personally or professionally, is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of growing into your purpose. What is next for you this year and how can readers support you? What inspired you to become a CEO? The lack of change around women's leadership and the status quo of women of color around the world. Please introduce yourself and business:
I am the founder and CEO of Recherche' Enterprises. A multi-million dollar empire that's home to the following corporations:
What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I was sick of the narrative that women were better at home. I was sick of the narrative that mothers can't focus on more than wifing & mothering. I hated the messages sent through the media & through our own patriarchal society/culture. I'm every woman. I aim to show women that you can do WHATEVER you put your mind to. You can do whatever YOU want. People can stumble you, give bad advice & throw obstacles on your path. But they can't stop you. No one can stop you but you. If you're still breathing you can dust off & start again. No dream is too big! Any advice you can share with women just getting started on a similar purpose pursuit? It sounds cliche' but....if you can believe it, you can achieve it. God didn't randomly put a dream in your head. Visions are divine. If he gave you a spiritual picture, it's because he knows you're equipped to make it a physical one. What is next for you in 2020? I'm looking forward to authoring my first book. How can readers connect with you online or support your business? My website is currently being modernized & updated but it's still a valid method of contact. I'm on all social media platforms as "TheSpeakerTeacher". What inspired you to become a CEO?
This is such a loaded question for so many reasons. I don’t think it was “something” in particular that inspired me to become an entrepreneur. It was something that I became. That is why I love the title and the content of Becoming Michelle Obama. I believe that entrepreneurship is definitely a calling. It’s something that you have to be graced to do. Any time that you are responsible for impacting someone else’s financials, that’s a great responsibility. You are in fact boosting the economy. I love helping people. I don’t like calling myself a “CEO”. I am in fact a servant leader. I am living the life of my dreams because it allows me to serve. Please introduce yourself and business: My name is CaTyra Polland. I am an author, international podcaster (Editor Knows Best) and an international editor. I started my editing boutique, Love for Words in 2017. I love encouraging authors and polishing their manuscripts for the publishing stage. I enjoy traveling, shopping, spending time with friends and family and going to concerts. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I love reading and writing. I started writing poetry in middle school. I have a knack for spotting writing errors and improving writing. Any advice you can share with women just getting started on a similar purpose pursuit? Identify mentors, official or unofficial. Research other literary professionals and the art/science of editing. Read books, watch videos, talk to other editors, and connect with your target market. What is next for you in 2020? I am publishing a special edition magazine, Write, Wine, & Quarantine. Please share the journey behind becoming a Relationship/Life Coach & Grief Strategists:
A little peak behind my life as Coach Cortne' Lee Smith. It began as a struggle to survive then I found the formula to thrive through losses. On April 4th, 2012 I buried my husband at the age of 48. A crucial part of the journey, I was pushed into reinventing myself. As a part of the reinvention process, I analyzed what was missing along my grief journey walk and began to create messages and programs to facilitate a healthy grief journey to empower the left behind to embrace a new now. Part of the becoming a new me I obtained certifications as a Life and Relationship coach to help others navigate through relationship deaths (separation, divorce & death). Decided to go further into the niche of Grief is certified in Death and Grief Studies. Please introduce yourself and business:

Hi, I’m Shannon Poshe Anderson, best selling author, coach, executive producer and publisher. What inspired me to become an author/publisher is inspired by my own personal journey of writing and publishing my books. I felt lost and overwhelmed with all of the information that presented itself as I took the leap to become a self published author. After learning the process and publishing several books, I love the fact that I now help other people’s dreams come true by helping them to write and publish their books as well. Please introduce yourself and business:
I know first hand how difficult it can be starting a business. I had to put in the work doing the research and stepping out on faith when fear and my own thoughts were trying to hold me back. I'm now committed to helping women to Get Unstuck and S.E.X.Y. (Self-confidence, Excitement, Xtra and Yes I Can). We are someone's solution so it's time to do the necessary work and be obedient to what God is calling us to do. |
