Crystal divorced her husband of twelve years in June of 2013 as a result of infidelity. The divorce both devastating and heartbreaking left Crystal to adjust to a new reality of being single and a single mom. Crystal attributes her faith in God, family, and friends support overcoming the challenges and trauma of utter heartbreak caused by divorce and self disappointment.
On April 8, 2018 Pierre unexpectedly asked Crystal for her hand in marriage again. Crystal said yes and a reconciliation ceremony was performed on June 2, 2018. Crystal along with her husband, have made it a mission and priority to share with others their powerful testimony of faith, forgiveness, love and God’s reconciling powers through their personal ministry “Better2Gether.” Crystal is currently working on her first book entitled, “The Art of Forgiveness” ; A Woman’s Journey on learning to love herself again and remarrying her husband after their painful divorce Define what true love is. Crystal: True love to me is selfless. it’s putting someone else needs or desires before your own. It’s action as much as it is a feeling. True love is trusting and leaves room for growth. True love is forgiving. Why are you so big on marriages being revived? Crystal: I love, “Love!” I now believe their is hope for marriages on life support. If you have a husband and wife who love each other, and are willing to put the work in, the marriage CAN be revived! I honestly didn’t have this hope in marriage until God did it for me. And now I want to tell everybody that marital revival IS possible. I also understand not every marriage will be revived. But I do believe marriage is worth fighting for until the end. Do you believe that anything is forgivable in a marriage? Crystal: I believe you can forgive anything with God’s help. But rather or not a marriage can recover from hurtful experiences and broken trust is up to the married couple. I always felt I had to forgive Pierre (my husband) but I didn’t have to remarry him to prove he was forgiven. Forgiveness was the key that opened the door for me see that I could love him as a husband again after he asked me to marry him for the second time. In order to recover from the trespasses that have happened, both spouses have to have the same goal which is to recover and move forward. This means they have to be willing to do what each other needs to recover. What’s different about Crystal this time around? Crystal: I got a life lol! I used to fill my time playing detective and being Pierre’s shadow. And that was so consuming and draining. I was trying to control and prevent things from happening in my marriage. In retrospect, while trying to protect my marriage, I was carrying out roles that wasn’t mine to fulfill as a wife. Quoting scriptures to him and reminding him of his Biblical responsibilities. He doesn’t need me for that, he has a Pastor. An amazing one at that, Pastor Tim Harris of the Turning Point Family Worship Center. Pierre didn’t need another mother telling him what to do regardless of how much I didn’t trust his decision making process. This time around I am not trying to control nothing when it comes to Pierre. I want to be his wife, friend, and his lover. And by being these things to him, it gives me great influence in his decision. (Smile) What’s love got to do with it? Crystal: Love has everything to do with it. Love makes you do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do. I don’t enjoy watching sci-fi movies and getting up early in the morning to cook breakfast. But I will watch Aliens vs Predator and get up to make bacon and eggs because that’s what he likes and wants. Because that’s his love language. I’m the Founder & Director of Legacy Holistic Health Institute, where we certify health coaches. In this course, holistic nutrition and anatomy, meet metaphysics and business. It is the most comprehensive Health Coach training on the market. What does being "healthy" mean to you? Healthy goes beyond the physical body to me. Many times when we hear this word, we think about a style of eating, how we move our bodies in a workout or even self-care activities. It is about these things, but to me, being healthy is so much more. It incorporates our relationships, financial stability, creative expression, social interactions and the energy we allow around us. These are the things that shape the way we think, feel, act and treat our bodies. Being healthy is about being whole and holistically well. Define success. I can still hear my teacher in grade school define success aloud in class. She would always say "Success is something YOU decide." As a serial entrepreneur and Founder of Legacy Holistic Health Institute, I fully understand what she meant by giving us this definition. I've held on to this definition for years because it resonates so deep with me. We choose what we are serious about creating on our journey to success. We decide how to develop our resources in a way that ushers in success and leave a legacy for years to come. Our decision to be successful is a personal one, and all it takes to align with our next level. Who inspires you? I'm inspired by many people across different genres. Most of them are women like Madam C.J. Walker, Janice Bryant Howard and Oprah Winfrey. Women who have paved the way for women of color to advance in entrepreneurship. I am confident in my ability to lead, speak, educate and share my gifts with others because I stand on the shoulders or my ancestors and women like these. What's next for Angela personally? The next things that are coming up for me personally include a specific type of personal development that allows me to tap deeper into my soul's mission. My sights are set on journeying to high vibrational places on the planet that will allow me to immerse myself into the knowledge of the Divine that leads to a healthier, happier life. I have also been called to cleanse myself in preparation for my next level in life and business. This will give me the mental clarity and stability to be able to listen and intuitively understand my next path in life.
