As a writer, I create a voice for the voiceless. I use my words to uplift and my pen to empower women. Growing up I've always been considered as the ”underdog” I was overlooked and wasn't allowed to use my voice. Now that I have a platform, I strive to find up and coming female leaders creating their own paths in the industry. I highlight their brand and contributions to society

As a Creator, Master Hairstylist and Coach, I work with women all day! I see a great deal of women struggling with overall self-confidence/self-love. From, embracing their beauty within, to transitioning through life there is a struggle. What will other people think, what if it does not work etc. I coach them to forget about what others think, it is about what you think. How will you feel if you base your life off the thoughts of others resulting in you not living your best life? Do not think about what if it does not work, instead think about when it does work how will you feel. It is therapy and re-shifting the mindset. Once you develop the right mindset you can set out to conquer anything your heart desires! When women learn the ability to embrace their fears, that is when they truly thrive! Describe what makes you a visionary:
My name is Naomi Hall. I’m the founder and owner of The Release Party. Characteristics that make me a visionary : I never give up , even when things get difficult. I’m not afraid of failure. I’m not easily intimidated. I can envision on what I want the future to look like and then strategize how to get there. I may not be detail oriented and my plan may not have all of the technicalities but I know that planning is the starting point. I’m open minded and not afraid to ask “what if”. Share 3 steps that helped you bring your vision to life: 1. Write it out : Habakkuk 2:2 “Write the vision; make it plain“ — I do my best thinking when I’m writing. It seems to flow out a lot easier without interruptions. My best brainstorming is done when you using pen and paper. I asked myself 5 questions and wrote the answer out completely: - What are my areas of focus? -Who is my demographic? -What kind of image am I trying to portray? -What is it exactly that I’m setting out to do? -Who is my local competition? 2. Resolve old wounds: I had to figure out who I really was. I had to determine what it was that I really wanted. I realized I needed to heal my heart. Business is not about making money. Business is about serving other people. Where you serve with an open heart, you draw success to you. It makes sense that big business starts with healing your heart and serving through love. 3. Prayer : Letting God know the desires of my heart encourages me that he wants the best for me. Communicating through prayer is imperative for my life both personal and business. Prayer gives you the space to focus on what is really important and at the same time mentally and emotionally prepares for whatever is to come my way. How have you pivoted this year to still reach your goals: This year .. everything happened so unexpectedly. I was taken by a complete shock at first but I was able to flip my thinking. My goal was to expand and I’ve accomplished the beginning of it by utilizing social media, emails and virtual networking. I’ve had the opportunity to obtained more knowledge which allowed me to have better focus on The Release party and revamp my business. I am an author and the owner of 2 businesses. I envisioned UGottaEat (UGE) after leaving a 26 Finance career in corporate America 4 years ago. UGE is a virtual marketplace app that connects Personal Chef services with consumers. We are pursuing equity funding to launch and scale in late 2020. My vision is to bring people together with chefs and delicious food in an exponential way, exceeding the possibilities of a brick and mortar restaurant. Mindful eating is at the core of UGE, giving everyone access to fresh and homemade food to live a life of wellness and healthy outcomes, while eliminating waste and food insecurity. With food in my awareness, I wrote my first book, A Year of ME, Mindful Eating to Improve Wellbeing, 366 Daily Affirmations. Tell us about your latest Mompreneur Moves!
My latest move has been expanding my brand into helping women pivot their in-person events into virtual events. It has been a lot of work but so much fun. As a Creator, please share how your efforts help women to thrive. I teach millennial moms and start-up entrepreneurs how to master their mindset and balance their lives through the 3 Pillars of Self (self-care, self-worth, & self-discipline). Each of these pillars affects us subconsciously at a personal and professional level. It’s important to recognize how our thoughts show up in those areas. Our thoughts are very powerful. They’re the first key in dictating the reality we live in because our behaviors are influenced by our thoughts. I am passionate about my work as a peak potential strategist and speaker because when I teach women how to master their most powerful tool (their mind), they thrive all over the place and I love it! The reason I focus on women is because when women grow and develop, they impact the lives of everyone they are connected to. However, many women struggle with the feeling of “I’m not good enough”. I’ve had to overcome that in my own life – from an absent father to an abusive relationship to being called “miracle woman” after a 2007 car wreck left me brain dead and paralyzed. My biggest obstacle was overcoming my mind and knowing that I am more than good enough. Now, I combine my education and experiences to teach women how to overcome any obstacle they are faced with so that they can thrive, too!
What top 3 steps helped you reach success in your passion? The first step is to make self-care a priority. Self-care is more than spa days. It’s practicing boundaries. It’s saying, “no”. It’s learning how to effectively manage our emotions and heal our limiting beliefs. It’s putting our self first so that we can continue to pour into others. The second step is to be intentional. When we aren’t intentional about our goals, our day, our lives…we end up in the same place 20 years from now. When we don’t set intentions, it’s easier to become distracted by things, people, or situations that don’t progress us forward. We end up staying stagnant. Being intentional also helps to keep us focused when obstacles arise. The third step is to take consistent action. The best mindset and advice in the world means nothing if we don’t put action behind it. It’s the seemingly insignificant things we do every day that add up to the big moments and to achieved goals. How have you pivoted this year to still achieve your goals amidst the unprecedented changes we're all experiencing? I already run part of my business virtually. So, the biggest change that I had to adjust to was having my two children home all day, every day. Although routines can be helpful, I had to through all routines out of the window because that no longer worked. I had to allow myself grace to make mistakes as I navigated new waters and home-schooling a public school curriculum. It was frustrating, at first, but once I did that, the days got much easier. If home school didn’t start until 9pm, so be it. At least it got done. When forced to pivot, accept that it doesn’t have to be perfect, and instead of trying to walk the path that others create, do what works for you. 3. Mentorship and Research: Having a good mentor to help guide me through the steps is crucial. Doing research to make sure I am not recreating the wheel but that I am enhancing the services in my own creative way. What is next for you in 2020? 2020 has been a year of confirmation thus far. If you could give yourself business advice 10 years ago, what would that be? This is such a great question. I would tell myself to stop thinking that everything has to be perfect and you have to know it all. Just do it and by saying that I mean Just do it NOW! Don’t wait for the best time or right time. Don’t wait for everything to line up perfectly. It’s now or never. Just take the first step and keep moving forward. No matter how much you feel like giving up and turning back just keep looking forward. You will succeed but you will also fail. But fail forward. I would also tell myself to start building your team from the beginning. As new entrepreneurs, we get caught up in thinking that we have to do everything ourselves. Don’t think you have to do it alone. Build a team of people who will support, empower and force you to level up. How do you define “success”? I truly believe that everyone’s definition of success may be different. In fact, your success journey will not look the same as mine or the next persons. For me, success is a journey that never ends. I define success as knowing my purpose in life, continuing to grow and reach my potential and empowering others for growth. What is next for you in 2020? I am so excited that 2020 is here and I am truly looking forward to all it brings. I have declared this year as the year for Growth and Success. What that means is I am on a mission to empower others for growth and success by helping them recognize their potential and step outside of their comfort zone to live in their greatness. As a result, I will be releasing a book Anthology called Empowering Success and launching a Virtual Summit and conference. In addition, I am adding some additional radio shows to Envisioned Broadcasting Radio Station as well as a TV station this year. Great things are in the works and I am trusting and thanking God for the opportunity to continue Empowering others for Growth & Success. How can readers support your efforts? I’m a Military Spouse who created the First All-Inclusive Self-Care Subscription Coaching platform specifically for MOMS! My Coaching platform will also include a feature to create curated tribes for mothers without them having to do anything but fill out a form- like “Mommy Matchmaking”. This tribe creation feature will connect Moms with like-minded women with similar interests and lifestyles based on the information provided on their survey form. I saw a need to create a company based on positive socialization amongst Moms that wouldn’t drain or waste their already limited time. Online dating has produced a lot of fruitful marriages, so “arranged” friendships amongst Mothers is something I am confident will be positive as well. I want to take as much “figuring it out” out of Motherhood as possible, and create a more “done-for-you” concierge Motherhood experience. Please introduce yourself:
My name is Taquoya Porter. I am a wife, mother and minister of Jesus Christ. As a minister I serve as a evangelist, youth pastor and I coordinate overseas missions Please introduce yourself and share the 3 key steps that have helped you reach major milestones in life, like becoming a young homeowner:
Hello my name is Aghie Ogirri and I am an HR Consultant at Bank of America. Three steps that have helped me reach major milestones are: 1) Faith in the process and the struggle--you have to believe in yourself and have faith that whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve. 2) Persistence--nothing in life is easy and you have to first understand and accept this fact, because it helps steer you in the right direction and gives you the drive you need to succeed. 3) Goals--in life there are goals you will reach easily and some that will take a while. When you meet goals, pat yourself on the back and when you don't, keep pushing and reinventing the wheel. Any advice for mothers who may find quarantine to be challenging right now? Advice to mothers: Be patient with your child and kind to yourself. This experience is unprecedented and just as you are learning how to cope, your child is too. Take this as an opportunity to get to really learn your child and spend time with them. Remind yourself that they do not understand what is happening out here and in some ways, that is a good thing. I have taken this time to engage in some outdoor bike riding, walking and indoor arts and crafts projects with my son. The main focus for me right now is using this extra time to really connect with my son. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? In the next 5 years I see myself finding new and innovative ways to continue to make a positive impact in my community and partnering with others to help bring these community projects to life. I also see myself continuing to grow in my spiritual journey as this quarantine has helped me regain my spiritual focus. How can readers connect with you social media? My latest Momprenur moves were during lockdown in NYC, having more time to stay home and promote my lipsynk cosmetics business, and then I did extra networking by then added two new businesses. The second was One Hope Wine and the third was a Brand Ambassador for Bella Rose Passion beauty products. I am enjoying three businesses while home and I have enough time for resource training and planning events after the pandemic is over Tell us about your latest Mompreneur Moves!
My name is Dr. Kiiyonna L. Jones. I am a Registered Nurse with over 12 years experience at the bedside, while simultaneously growing within nursing leadership and starting my own business. Currently, I am a professor at a large private university, still work 4 days per month at the bedside, and own a Beauty and Wellness Boutique, Luxe Beauty and Wellness in Artesia, California. I am a wife and mother of 5 wonderful children who are the Why for everything I do. During this quarantine I have started a t-shirt business which focuses on putting positive thoughts on t-shirts and I have enthusiastically began working on my training course for nurses who are interested in sidepreneurship. How do you balance entrepreneurship with motherhood? My family is my number one priority, every thing I do and have done is for my family as a result, finding balance can be challenging. However, I wake up before my family to have uninterrupted time building my business. It is important that in the evening when we are spending family time together, that I put aside everything and am present and focused on experiencing my family. Our children are 23, 21, 13, 12, and 3 (blended family) and as you can imagine, the 3 year-old requires the most time but between my husband and I we manage to enjoy our time her as well. What 3 steps helped you to become successful as a Mompreneur? The first step has been my dedication to maintaining a disciplined life, where I have eliminated anything that does not add value to my life. The second step is making time for my health, this includes exercise, eating healthy, meditation, and most importantly investing in self-growth courses and coaching. Any advice for mom's who are considering a pivot into entrepreneurship right now? I emphasize, to mothers especially, stay focused on your why which most often is your family. Use your love for your family as leverage and a source of strength to push through the hurdles that WILL COME during your entrepreneurial journey. Take the time to discover your passion, whenever you decide to start your business make sure you are doing something you love and find true pleasure in. Since the middle of March, I have been home because of the pandemic hit New York hard. At first, I had no idea what I was going to do. My children were out of state at the time visiting family and I kept them there for a whole month. I wanted them to stay safe. I was able to rock my Mompreneur skills to whole another level. This is a great time to help strengthen my homemaking skills during a shutdown. The first thing I did was clean up some clutter, I cleaned out the closets, donated some clothes, rearranged the cabinets, and then I started focusing on my self-care and my next book project. I started my layout designs for my line of Afrocentric journals. My children's school started the remote learning process, I had my girls on their daily schedule even while they were out of state. I started making my own smoothies, cooking healthier meals, I started to feel better, mentally, spiritually, physically, and intimately. I'm not going to let any pandemic stop me from doing what I do best. That's to take care of myself and lead my family. Tell us about your latest Mompreneur Moves!
