Please share some of the highlights from your entrepreneurial journey so far:
Wow, where to begin. Over the last 20 years as an entrepreneur I have had the privilege of meeting some amazing people. I've had the opportunity to learn from fantastic Successful entrepreneurs such as Hugh Hilton, George Ross, Rob Van Winkle aka Vanilla Ice among others. Gaining an understanding that everyones journey in entrepreneurship is different, no 2 stories are the same but that we all have one thing in common which is we are relentlessly working to achieve our goals. How has self-love and confidence contributed to your professional success? I had to learn to love myself beyond any success or failure. Loving yourself is the KEY component to making it as entrepreneur, accepting that it is ok to make mistakes, it's ok to fail as long as we learn from those mistakes and failures. Are there any tips you’d like to share for maintaining work/life balance? ALWAYS carve out time for you. Take care of your core 4. Body, Being, Balance and Business. Make your core 4 the focus of your journey and you will always be balanced. What is on the horizon for you in 2020? 2020 is my Ctrl-Alt-Delete year. I AM RESETTING & Redesigning my life in general. How can readers support your business? My social media: IG: pattyp_flips FB: PartyPortoMonte FB & IG: @Curls, Business Coffee What inspired you to become a Glam CEO? As a generational entrepreneur, I actually intentionally chose the corporate path before building my business. Growing up I had a first-hand look at entrepreneurship through my mother who had several businesses from the time I was eight years old. I have had a master class of life lessons, and I understood that being a CEO is not for the faint at heart. I didn’t want a business just because. It had to be meaningful work that was my passion. Through several ventures I learned that it takes more than passion. Being a CEO of your own business or the executor or anyone’s business requires capital, focus and a plan. It was not until I found my purpose in training, coaching and teaching and identified a clear cap in the market that I staked my claim as a CEO in my own right. How does your efforts help move women forward? My mission is purpose activation and income maximization, and this is my primary aim for all that I serve, especially women. In an age where we are still fighting pay gaps, battling imposter syndrome and still finding our unique voice, it is more important than ever that we help women to their best selves in every endeavor. Coaching is my superpower to help women see themselves the way God sees them in their purpose. If we are not well mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially, then we are not truly free to operate in our gifts at the optimal level to impact others. I am committed to seeing sisters have healthy thriving businesses and clear vision on their journey. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would that be? Pride comes before the fall. You can avoid a lot of head and heart ache if you just ask for help when you need it and use your network. That’s what they are there for; reciprocity. I have been fortunate to gain a very supportive network throughout my career that followed me into entrepreneurship. What is next for you in 2020? 2020 is the year of “ships”: partnerships, relationships, and mentorship. I am focusing on deeper and intentional relationships. The last 2 years, I built my business as more of a solopreneur, and I did a lot of the operational foundations solo. I am now at a place where I embrace and need the connection of a team to scale and grow as well as solid mentors to coach me to the next level of business. Yes, even coaches need a coach! This year also brings more curated content and master classes to pour into quality coaching training and certifications. My goal is to produce quality over quantity; to put out work I am proud of and produce the best coaches and leaders I can from my business. How can readers connect and support your efforts? For many years I worked in the senior care industry in mid-level management. It was a rewarding but frustrating experience. Oftentimes I felt my hands were tied in providing the best care possible for residents. It was at this time I began thinking about having my own business. After transitioning to health & wellness I knew it was time to step out and do things on my own. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say? Starting a business is a great undertaking. There are days when it’s rewarding and times when you’re ready to call it quits. Perfecting your craft is important and most CEOs focus primarily on this while neglecting to develop a skill set of attracting your ideal client. Learn the art of marketing and advertising so attracting your ideal market happens organically. Most small businesses fail due to lack of capital secure funds to give your business a successful start. With this being the month of love, how do you feel self-love affects our entrepreneur journey? Self-love isn’t optional for the CEO. Loving yourself enables you to provide the best customer service experience. When I am practicing self-love it’s natural for me to show up as my best self. Our energy radiates and others can sense when we genuinely love ourselves. My journey as a CEO/entrepreneur is continually improving due to my heightened self-care practices which includes self-love. What are you looking forward to most in 2020? This year is off to a great start! What’s most exciting is the opportunity to become a full time CEO. The journey of owning a business has many peaks and valleys. When you realize all the hard work is starting to pay off it serves as a reminder that you are walking in purpose. I was inspired to become a CEO due to being a single mom. I feel the universe pushed me to pursue my dream. Through being a mom I wanted to travel, spend as much time with my son , River Mason Eromosele, as possible, and make a good living for us. Becoming a CEO provides that platform of balance for me. Working for yourself it has its trials and tribulations. However, being able to spend an abundant amount of time and travel with my son is motivation and itself to own my own business. I never wanted to be that mother that had to miss school plays, PTA meetings, and play days due to having a busy work schedule. Becoming a CEO permits me the opportunity to create a schedule around my son. This way I am a mother before anything. Being a mother is so important to me. It’s vital to be inclusive of how my journey to motherhood has been. Motherhood has been everything for me the past nine years. As a teenager mother it really taught me a hustle and a work ethic that’s unmatched. Bringing my son along my journey and the entertainment industry has not only propelled my career but it started his career in modeling and acting. Now at the age of nine my son is a successful and talented kid actor. So, I’m grateful . I'm also proud of choice to become a CEO. My son comes with me to my office, we do homework together, we have dinner together, we consult with one another , and we go over business strategies. We have an unbreakable and transparent bond. I promise you my son is like my VP. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say? If I could share business advice to myself 10 years ago I would say do it sooner. Don’t be afraid to go after what you want to do it now. I jumped into the game of entrepreneurship early on in my career. So, I will just tell myself to go harder and believe in myself a little bit more. As cliche as it is I would also tell myself that it will all pay off in my will soon be ripping the rewards of every ounce of hard work that I put into my career. With this being the month of love, how do you feel self-love affects our entrepreneur journey? Honestly, my love life is nonexistent. However I don’t apply much effort into an earth thing a significant other. I’ve been single for a while and I’m completely content with that. I feel as though when I get to a level of my career when I’m satisfied overall then I’ll be more content with settling down. My dating life hasn’t had much affect over the past 10 years I was in an on and off relationship and once I called it quits with that it just became Jurassic. What are you looking forward to most in 2020? I’m looking forward to 2020 being the year of the harvest. I say that because I truly believe in numerology and 2020 is the year of ripping all intent that you have put out in the world. It’s the year of ripping all the seas you have planted and now it’s time for the harvest. So, for 2020 I’m excited about all of the abundance that I am receiving. I’m excited about the manifestation that I have been working my butt off the past 10 years for. I’m excited about the new chapters I’m opening in my life story. So in 2020 I am looking forward to the year of the hardest. How can readers support your efforts and connect with you online? What inspired me to be an CEO was wanting to create a safe space for millennial women. After going through my silent battles of rape, continuous heartbreak from jobs, family, and friends, always hearing "no, you're not good enough", severe mental breakdowns, having little to no income, and lack of self worth and love, I decided to stop wearing my mask of what I felt to be full of embarrassment, pity, and failure and instead use my experience and expertise to help millennial women worldwide just like me to be better than me by creating a table full of seats if you will by teaching them how to properly heal, manifest, transform, invest their money & look great doing it! What inspired you to become a CEO?
Besides the fact that I wanted to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren, the story unfolds as such: As my children and I were leaving a strip mall to go home, a strange woman walked up to me and asked me if I could watch her child because she had to go to prison. Awkwardly enough, I had this woman to sit down with me and share her story of what was going on in her life. As time went on and it was getting late, I winded up driving this woman and her daughter to their home with an understanding that I would have to speak with my husband and thereafter we would pray about the situation. She understood and agreed. After about a week, God gave us the answers and instructions of what we needed to do. The woman had given us the contact person name and telephone number for us to reach out to for more information. We received the information and then went through classes to become a foster parent. There was no pay involved and we were okay with that. We were not doing it for the money but to give the teenager the love of a family while her mom went to settle a debt to society. The daughter was about fourteen years old and had gone through so many traumatic experiences before she had come to live with us. She blended well with the family. As I was going to the foster care meetings, my perception of what was really going on outweighed what was being shown. As I listened to the youth as well as the adults, I understood that there was a major gap of love and a host of other things missing. As youth aged out, I was hearing of the homelessness and lack of life skills that needed to be provided to them. As a foster parent, I took on many other youth (which just showed up at my house) to share the love of a family. As our family grew and my concern for the other youth increased, I began to ask God to help me develop a program where I can provide such services to the youth aging out foster care. This Program would later become profound in the community for not only the aged out foster youth but the community youth as well. Thereafter I started my business to provide housing services and life skills management to youth aging out foster care; that was over seventeen years ago. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say? The business advice I would share with myself 10 years ago would be, get a team of individuals to assist you in the vision that has been given to you. You cannot fulfill the vision alone. With this being the month of love, how do you feel self-love affects our entrepreneur journey? Self-love affects our entrepreneur journey in that we must take time out for ourselves so that we have the well-balanced ingredients of focus, stamina, creative innovations, strength, wisdom, integrity, clarity and clear vision to what has been given to us. If we don't take care of ourselves, we cannot properly take care of our business. Also, self-love is unique to each individual person therefore being aware of what you as the individual need is very important because only you ultimately can influence your actions. What are you looking forward to most in 2020? I am looking forward to most in 2020 is my VIP 3-Day Intensive Quarterly Weekender Coaching in San Antonio, Texas in May 2020; Jacksonville, Florida in June 2020 and West Virginia, Virginia in July 2020 where as we get together (and develop all documents) with likeminded individuals who are ready to move forward in Opening, Managing and Sustaining their own Transitional Facility. I don’t think I was ever inspired to become a CEO. However, I was more so inspired to find my purpose in life, to do something that natural flowed out of me, that brought joy to my life, honored God, and helped others. As I began to pursue those things I was then inspired to turn it into a business and become the CEO I am today. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say? Good question, I would tell my self to not treat my business like a hobby, people only take you as serious as you take yourself. Charge for your experience, you’ve taken the time and money to perfect your craft—charge what your worth. Find a business mentor to help avoid some of the simple mistakes. With this being the month of love, how do you feel self-love affects our entrepreneur journey? It’s easy to forget about your self as you grind to get where you desire to be. Being intentional with self-care will allow you to show up as your best self and provide the best energy and experience for you and your clients. Self-care goes beyond the regular scheduled mani and pedi appointment, it’s also attending to your mental, emotional, and spiritual care. Taking the time to sit and observe your state of being to do the necessary work is self-care. You can not pure from an empty cup. What are you looking forward to most in 2020? I have had my share of disappointments to include being fatherless during my childhood and spent my teenage years caring for a mentally ill mother - a time during which my only sibling was incarcerated. After going through domestic abuse in two different relationships during my twenties, ending an 18 year marriage, losing one of my best friends, and my mom and only living grandmother, and suffering from depression, I looked past my challenging times and reached within myself, relied on my trusted family, friends, and faith to find strength. After my 49 year old brother’s sudden death, it caused me to reflect and think about my highest purpose in life and it sparked my passion to share my story with others who may be despondent about their situations and let them know they too can make it. In 2017, as a certified coach, I launched Reaching Within and Empowerment Journey LLC, a coaching company to ignite a spark within my clients to move them to action by providing tools to map out their short term and long term goals, new areas of interest, and areas for further development. Services include professional development, resume review, interview prepping, accountability calls, and career counseling leveraging my Visualize Integrate, Strategize, Integrate, Opportunities, Next Steps (V.I.S.I.O.N.) program. The outcome of the program is to equip clients with executable steps to develop and achieve professional goals through goal setting and confidence building. |
