What inspired you to become a Speaker?
Interestingly, I had the opportunity when I was a young child to speak in front of people at church, during conventions, and in whatever capacity my parents told me to while involved in church. Little did I know then what I was becoming the speaker I am today and what my parents were creating was the “me in the making.” Thank God they did! Throughout my professional career, I have had numerous opportunities to speak whether it was at a school, in a board room, conference room, in a church, at a community organization, at different businesses, on the campus of colleges or universities, at a community event, or for any special occasion or event that requested my services. That foundation and those experiences continue today as I do speaking engagements at different venues. I continue to share my life experiences and my professional journey with others to make a powerful impact in the lives of others! Share the top 2 messages that you convey during events: One message that I always convey is, “Education is HARD work, but it is also HEART work.” Education is like no other profession on the planet. Yet and still we must work on educating the whole child to make an impact. Educating kids is not like producing a product where you can control all the variables. Variables in a child’s life are sometimes complex and we as educators must find the right touch to get the best from each child. Another message is to, “Love what you do and do what you love.” I have always been an educator and aspired to become one even when I was young. It is so important to do what you enjoy doing and that you are passionate about doing. This not only brings you joy, but you get to elevate your skills because you love what you are doing and you will continue your journey of growing and learning because of your passion for your chosen profession. You get to share your gift with the world and help to make it a better place! What has this current season taught you about life and/or entrepreneurship? As an entrepreneurship, this current season has taught me to always strive to be better than I was yesterday, to keep elevating, speak positive affirmations about myself, what I do, and the impact I make in the lives of others, and allow myself the opportunity to explore the unknowns about myself. I am amazed at what unknown skills I possess, what impact I continue to make, and what lies ahead on my journey! When there is one no, just know there are three yeses. Keep it moving and believe the sky is the limit! No one can stop what God has already blessed. Just watch and let it manifest! How do you plan to make the next 6 months, your best 6 months? Wow! Sometimes I must hold myself back from all the things I want to accomplish because I know I must slow it down and be lasered focused. I can be a work-alcoholic and get involved in too much at times. However, the next six months will bring about more books, more speaking engagements, more connections and relationships that will build my ability to elevate, definitely elevation of my business, and more centered in my God given purpose! I am excited and proceed with wonder! I AM READY! Please share your speaker booking info and social media info: My speaker booking information can be located at www.dressiespeaks.com.
