What inspired you to become a CEO?
I have had my share of disappointments to include being fatherless during my childhood and spent my teenage years caring for a mentally ill mother - a time during which my only sibling was incarcerated. After going through domestic abuse in two different relationships during my twenties, ending an 18 year marriage, losing one of my best friends, and my mom and only living grandmother, and suffering from depression, I looked past my challenging times and reached within myself, relied on my trusted family, friends, and faith to find strength. After my 49 year old brother’s sudden death, it caused me to reflect and think about my highest purpose in life and it sparked my passion to share my story with others who may be despondent about their situations and let them know they too can make it.
In 2017, as a certified coach, I launched Reaching Within and Empowerment Journey LLC, a coaching company to ignite a spark within my clients to move them to action by providing tools to map out their short term and long term goals, new areas of interest, and areas for further development. Services include professional development, resume review, interview prepping, accountability calls, and career counseling leveraging my Visualize Integrate, Strategize, Integrate, Opportunities, Next Steps (V.I.S.I.O.N.) program. The outcome of the program is to equip clients with executable steps to develop and achieve professional goals through goal setting and confidence building.

How do you define "Go Getter' and what inspired you to incorporate this messaging with your brand?
A go-getter is someone who has a goal and wants to go get that goal. The struggle is around what action to take to go get that goal. My media content company shares actionable strategies to go get your goals across my social media platforms @speakershinjini, and soon, on our proprietary media platform that we are building to motivate go-getters to go get their goals. There is a gap in the motivational marketplace of actionable, motivational content led by a young immigrant woman of color who reaches global audiences.
What inspired you to create the Classy Living Society?
My upbringing played quite a major role in the creation of Classy Living Society. At age nine, I received a brand new perspective of the world. Just as I was preparing my wish list of Christmas gifts for that year, my parents announced to my siblings and me that in lieu of receiving personal Christmas gifts, our family would adopt a less fortunate family in the community. That year, and each year after that, my family devoted an entire day during the holidays, driving our adopted family to various stores for gifts, food and other essentials. It became our mission to ensure that all of the family’s Christmas wishes and needs were met. These missions became a way of life for us overall, as we sought other ways to give back to the community. But through my experiences during the holidays, I learned the true meaning of Christmas, and ultimately that giving back to those less fortunate was not a hindrance, or drudgery, but a privilege. Out of this early lesson, my passion for community service and volunteerism began.
I left my native Los Angeles, California and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. I brought with me the combination of a boundless spirit of creativity, originality, free-thinking and professional experience from my business background. I merged these qualities, in addition to skills derived from networking with various professionals, my passion for one-of-a-kind event planning and lifelong determination to proactively contribute to society and founded Classy Living Society in 2013.
Dressing for the office can be tricky. Striking the right balance between professional and personal, while showing a little personality is hard, especially if you also want to be comfortable. Many of us find ourselves sucked into a pattern of dark trouser suits that are easy to wear but offer little in the way of style or fun, and certainly aren’t what we’d have ever imagined ourselves wearing to work day in and day out.
Adding some color is a great way to turn those dull office outfits into striking looks that make you feel strong and confident, perhaps even boosting your performance at work. What you wear might not seem important, but feeling happy and confident, and looking professional is key when it comes to being successful in the workplace. Adding some life to those boring suits can help you to get noticed, and give you a way to show different sides of your personality in the office. Believe it or not, adding a little color could be what changes your work life for the better. So let’s take a look at some ways to do it.

Who is Meagan at her core?
Throughout my childhood and the first half of my life, I struggled a lot to figure out who I was. I defined myself in relationship to others and what I was good at, but not necessarily what I wanted to learn and do. I was a “great friend”, “hard worker, “smart” and “caring”. I am still those things today, but it took me until now, in my 30s to find the life I have now, where I feel that what I do every day matches what I am meant to do in this world.
A holiday surrounded with great girlfriends is a great way to celebrate life. That is what the ladies of the all new talk show, Chatter, do this holiday season!
