Please introduce yourself and business to our readers:
What inspired your pursuits in this industry?
My inspiration comes from my personal life experiences of low self-esteem which led to toxic relationships, depression, and even attempted suicide as a teen. Being a licensed therapist in Georgia, I wanted to reach more than my everyday local clients. I created my platform to empower the youth, college students, and women to build resilience, make healthy choices and reach their full potential.
What advice would you share with readers interested in pursuing a similar profession?
I am new to entrepreneurship, so I am still taking advice myself! I will say, something I have learned during my journey is to be your authentic yourself. Many times we see successful people and try to “copy” them; but their style, their story, their walk is not yours. When you are true to yourself and your clients, they will not only relate to but trust you and your brand.
What has been your biggest professional challenge, and how did you conquer it?
My biggest professional challenge was the fear of my story being public. I was afraid of being judged or labeled; but I had to realize that God gave me my journey and my career for a reason.
What is next for you in 2016?
I plan to officially launch my organization, The Art of Confidence, LLC, November 2016; which will offer self-confidence and empowerment coaching to youths, college students, and women. My plan is to begin a multi-city college tour to empower college students in the areas of managing stress, setting goals, and healthy relationships.
