Hat & Tea Awards party, a tea party and awards event that focuses on uplifting women in the local community that our stepping up as servant leaders in their church, communities, careers and businesses. The tea is designed to focus on awarding our esteemed honorees each year and we raise much needed sponsorship funds for our local charities, programs and organizations. Tanya T. Morris is also the founder of Mom Your Business, and her mission is to help mompreneurs turn obstacles into opportunities by connecting them to resources that lead to success in business and in life. Tanya and her team provide business development services, training, mentoring and special events and the team is currently working on promoting a co-working space that will include a children’s play area and maker studio.
Shari Williams is President of Shari Williams Enterprises, LLC an innovative and creative consulting company designed to celebrate, promote and invest in the success of people, businesses and organizations. SWE offers PR & Consulting services, business development, workshops facilitation, social networking events, public speaker’s network, event planning and professional and educational unmanned aerial systems (UAS) services, one on one training for groups, camps and special company team building events. Shari Williams Enterprises LLC created the WomanUP Initiatives Business Networking Circle, which started as an original initiative from our highly successful WomanUP! Hat & Tea Awards Party. The WomanUP Initiatives Business Networking Circle offers a variety of services to help women build and promote their personal brand and expand their business and social network. What inspired your pursuits? Tanya is inspired most by the women business owners she meets every day. She is inspired to help them grow and create something great. Tanya wants to change lives! Shari is inspired by staying on the cutting edge of an industry and helping people get engaged that’s what makes her excited about being an entrepreneur and partnering with other business leaders and influencers. What advice would you share with those that are interested in being successful in your industry? Tanya - Being a successful entrepreneur you must be willing to take risk. You must believe in yourself when no one else does. Lastly build a team, surround yourself with people who compliment your strengths and thrive where you are weak. Shari - Being a successful entrepreneur you must work on your craft every day. You must go the extra miles by networking beyond your business cards and social media networks. Lastly, you are only as great as your circle of supporters and partners, make sure you place yourself in unchartered territory so that you can learn new things, be kind to everyone and map out your 5-year plan this will help you stay organized and meet your deadlines and goals. Describe a moment of triumph during your professional journey: Tanya - A moment of triumph for me in my journey was earning my MBA in Executive Leadership. I went back to school at 48 and my goal was to get my degree by my 50th birthday and I did. I am a writer and I never saw myself as an entrepreneur, but I wanted an advanced degree. It has been the best thing I've ever done! I use my degree every day in my career. Shari - A moment of triumph for me in my journey was earning my FAA UAS drone license. I wanted to learn something new and scale my business offerings and at age 51 I went back to school and now I’m teaching others how to fly drones and droning real estate, construction sites and helping other drone companies and professionals showcase their products and services.
