Introduce yourself and profession to our readers:
I am Shae Primus, certified Matchmaker & Dating Coach, author, & radio show host. I specialize in helping professional people of color become ready for love. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? I was inspired to pursue Matchmaking & Dating Coaching because I have so many friends who are successful, attractive, smart, great quality, yet single. I wanted to help them find love. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? I would definitely advise anyone interested in my field & especially my demographic to get to know their audience. Although I graduated from the Matchmaking Institute & Relationship Coach Institute, what makes me successful is that I spend time working with singles. Talking to them. Understanding what's out here & what they go through. I am an expert on Black Professional Singles because I study them. I even host a radio show, Conversations with Cupid, giving them a platform to share & discuss their issues & concerns. You have to be prepared to live this life in order to be successful. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: Just recently, an article went viral about me that took something I said out of context. I am still in the process of overcoming it. But I am doing so by using the time in the spotlight to share my brand & the good that I do. I have matched 67 couples in 2016; started a dating site, MiddleClassMatch.com that has 70,000 singles; I have written a book for singles, There Is A Lid for Every Pot: A Dating Guide for Single Professionals. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? My goal this year is to match 100 singles. I also plan to expand my brand beyond the Atlanta area. How can readers connect with you online and through social media? I am on FB & IG at MiddleClassMatchmaker and I can be reached on my website at MiddleClassMatchmaker.com
