Introduce yourself and profession to our readers: My name is Eron Johnson The CEO of You Empower Who and I am a Empowerment Speaker. I help women with their self empowerment. By over coming obstacles with strategic planning. So they can embrace their lives and believe in their strength. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? Due to the recent loss of my son from cancer, it brought back a flooding of emotions. Things I had swept under the rug including insecurities. I had to sit down and figure out a way to work through it.
I realized something was missing in my life entirely. Self Empowerment. The feeling that I could do anything I could set my mind to. So I sat down and did some self reflection.thought back on being a child and adult dealing with abuse and just how I solved issues. I always created a strategy on how to get out of a situation or find a way to cope. As a child I always found myself being inquisitive and analytical. Now that I'm older we can add empathy. I always want to look at things from others perspectives and find a way to uplift them. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? I would advise anyone thinking of heading down this Empowering road. Be ready to grow as a person. Have a open mind and ear. Trust in your gut feeling about things. You are not here to judge your clients believe me they are experiencing that already. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: Choosing to start a business over Full-time corporate job. I had been Part-time at my corporate job because the schedule fit me taking my two son's to school and my other son to DR appointments etc. Once my son passed, I thought I would just go back to work and things would be normal. But that is not at all how it went. I felt empty, like there was more to life and I had to find it. So I was talking to a friend of mine that's an author. They said" you need to write a book". I was kinda hesitant then I just said "yeah I'm going to work on that but where do I start?" They gave me some pointers and off I went. I found this fantastic group of women, in the Coach Ya Damn Self Facebook community. And they gave me the tools to get the book started along with my Empowerment Speaking.. the book is titled "My Walk With Johnathin". It's about how childhood cancer affected him and the family. I'm happy to say it's in the editing phase. What is next for your brand/business in 2018? Becoming a published author, speak on more platforms about childhood abuse, domestic violence and being a single mother when you feel like your life cup is empty. You have to keep pushing on because the children need you. Also, starting a non-profit in honor of my son. He said he wanted to leave his mark on the world, I'm doing what I can to make this happen.
