Introduce yourself and profession to our readers:
I was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Soon after graduating high school I moved to Atlanta, GA for college. I graduated 2014 with a bachelor in Business Logistic Management from Clark Atlanta University. I began my professional career with Wal-Mart Logistics which relocated me to Ohio in 2014. Shortly after working with the company I realized that was not my passion and used my business school background to find an alternative. I am a strong believer that " If your dreams don't scare you, You are NOT dreaming big enough". I am a walking testimony that it is never to late to change paths or re route. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? Growing up I was always the tallest person within my classes or friends through middle and high school. Since I was so tall and athletic, sports were just a given throughout my childhood. Although I played sports I still wanted to be able to dress cute and stylish. Shopping with my mom for heels we NEVER could find size 11 & up easy assessable within any retail stores. We always used Payless, which offers the largest size range, as a go to store. The shoes were not the current trends and I would end up settling for sneakers. I want TALL WOMEN to feel stylish and comfortable. I want young girls to not feel outcasted or confined into a box when it comes to fashion. What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit? The biggest advice I can give is to GO FOR IT. Saying 'NO' is taking the easy way out, Saying 'YES' and making it happen.. now thats hard! Also research your desired filed and always network with people doing similar things. Your net worth is your network. Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it: A professional challenge I faced was leaving money to purse happiness. I personal believe that 'If you find a job you love, You'll never work a day in your life". This quote helped me realize that even though my corporate position was paying me I was losing out on family moments, exploring the world, and self growth. I was unhappy everyday going to work and the happiest when I was leaving. To solve my problems I put my two week notice in and over two years later I am running an online women shoe store and opening up a store front location in Atlanta, GA. What is next for your brand/business in 2017? By the end of February 2017 we will be opening up a store front location in Atlanta, GA (near atlantic station). We are also looking to collaborate and work with ALL brands and bloggers. How can readers connect with you online and through social media?
