Introduce yourself and profession to our readers:
I am Annette Webster, author of The Blueprint : Playing and Winning with a Losing Hand. My new book was a complete spiritual journey where God showed me the issues we must overcome in order to experience His supernatural work in our life. This inspirational, yet disruptive book is a challenge to choose and chase God in your life like never before. It is a persuasive message that demands you take back control of your finances by providing practical steps to do so. It encourages you to trust in our God who gives second, third and fourth chances for restoration in your relationships as well as with Him.
Before this book I spent my teenage years writing poems and attending poetry slams. I believe words are so powerful, explosive and expressive. I had no plans on writing a book until the Holy Spirit revealed this message to me. By trade, I am an accountant but my first and true love is with words. I am so excited to share the message God gave me in my new book.
What inspired you to pursue this area of interest?
August 24th, 2015, the Holy Spirit woke me at 1:20 AM and delivered this message to me, which turned into a book. I pursued it because I believe anything God gives us is worth pursuing. I believe God allowed that thing that has been festering inside of me be released at such a time as this to encourage and elevate His people.
What advice would you share with those interested in a similar pursuit?
For someone interested in writing a book I would say pray before you begin to type a word. I would wake up at 4 AM to write my book. I would ask the Holy Spirit to speak to me, use my mind and hands to produce the message God wants His people to know. Be relentless about writing- about your craft, whatever that may be. When I say relentless, I mean write when it’s not convenient, when no one is looking, in the middle of the night, on your lunch break or in the bathroom. When God begins to speak to you, write in that moment without hesitation. Your obedience and consistency is what produces fruit.
Discuss a professional challenge and how you overcame it:
Finding my passion. I believed for so long that I must do “the right thing.” Meaning, fit in with what society calls successful. That I must obtain a college degree, work a 9-5 job, secure a mortgage and car note to be considered “accomplished” and “grown up.” For so long I suppressed my true love by focusing on a career that is opposite of my personality. I struggled with being happy and feeling fulfilled until I realized that I need a job but the job wasn’t the point. The point was that I need to support myself while chasing my dreams, doing something that gives me joy, something that I would continue to do if no one paid me - and this is right. My biggest professional challenge was seeing where I need to be and where I want to be and how there is a difference. I need to balance both so I can be 100% where I want to be.
What is next for your brand/business in 2018? In 2018, I want to reach as many people as possible with my book, The Blueprint. I want to encourage people that there is more to their life than the eye can see. Supernatural blessings are in store for us once we chase after God like never before in our lives. I’m going to continue to write until a breakthrough happens for someone.
