What inspired you to become a CEO? Having worked for most of life as part of somebody else’s vision I wanted to build upon my own dream and create something I could be proud of. I would look at the people I would be working for and think I could be investing this time and energy into building my own empire, but always being pulled into the spiral of the responsibility of being a working adult with bills and commitments, would then sabotage those dreams never thinking I could make it happen. Having entrepreneur mentors and muses definitely inspired me to become my own CEO and explore opportunities and take chances on the things that made me feel aligned with my purpose. I think becoming a mother and wanting to create that working/mother/life balance also became a huge motivation for me to finally start my business and become my own boss, whilst still allowing me the ability to be there for my kids and my family as well. It is not an easy feat to achieve and take so much work, sacrifice, wins and losses but if the end result is financial, personal and mental freedom to create your blueprint in this world, the hardships are just par for the course. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would you say?
Don't settle for the crumbs when you know you can have the whole pie. You have to push past the doubts ( which surface at times you least expect it), no matter how many “no’s” you are given, believe that there is a yes right around the corner and never let anyone talk you out of your dream. I wished I believed I was enough ten years ago when I momentarily paused my dream at one point as the opinions of those that I thought were on my team were just part of the derailment crew. Once I saw the signs I took a step back, reassessed the damage, picked myself up and continued on my path to greatness, walking in my truth and keeping company with people that clapped for me even on my down days. Surround yourself with like minded, inspiring people who pray with you and for you and never stop learning. Share the 3 key steps that helped you bring your vision to life: 1. Realigning my passion with my purpose. 2. Taking on projects, opportunities, experiences that were out of my comfort zone allowed me to grow and develop more insight into my vision. 3. Learning to step away from things that no longer served my bigger goal and upscaling my worth, talent and time How do you plan to make the next 6 months your best 6 months? By diving headfirst into passion projects I have put on the blackburn for too long and making them come to life no matter what. I am obsessively creative at the moment, partially due to the current state of a world in constant lockdown, my mind and soul is awash with creativity. I look forward to launching my own publishing imprint in a few months that will see me at the helm of written works created for like minded women and men who have worked incredible journeys and have the stories to match. I am most excited about the publication of two new books I will be releasing via my new imprint before the end of 2020 and just building up my Ms Hennessey Entertainment brand with inspiring content, events and passion projects that ignite the soul.
