A dynamic performer, actress and spokesmodel with distinctive style and quick wit, Africa Miranda won the hearts of many across the US and around the globe as the breakout star of Bravo TV’s The New Atlanta. Fans fell in love with her witty personality and of course her fabulous head of hair, but also her down to earth girl next door appeal. After appearing on The New Atlanta, Africa was named the first ever Brand Ambassador for international hair care company Creme of Nature. Having already been the face of their previous Argan Oil from Morocco campaign, the brand recognized Africa’s connection with their consumers and felt she was a perfect fit. As Brand Ambassador she represented the company in various capacities including special appearances, hosting social media chats, and speaking at events and on panels. Check out our exclusive interview with her after the break! Tell us about some of your new projects! I have some exiting things on the horizon! I have 2 television projects in development that will show me in an entirely new light as well as a beauty product that I'm launching Summer 2016. What influenced your decision to relocate from Atlanta to NYC? It was time to shake things up. My time in Atlanta changed the course of my life and career, but there was something missing that I felt I could only capture in New York. How have you creatively leveraged social media to benefit your efforts? Social media has been the cornerstone of my personal branding. It's kept me relevant in ways I never would've expected; from partnering with brands to even having my "#GrowingUpBlack" tweet go viral and get picked up by major outlets like CNN and Buzzfeed. Also thanks to Periscope I've been able to reconnect with my Bravo audience as well as be exposed to an entire new live streaming community. What are your current top beauty products? Any favorite Apps? My must-haves are Ambi moisturizer (w/ sunblock), vitamin C serum, Naturellyfe liquid black soap, and my dermatologist :) Favorite apps: Periscope, Instagram, Poshmark What will 2016 bring for the Africa Miranda brand? I think 2016 will be a year of growth for me. I'm excited to expand my entrepreneurial and artistic efforts and also grow my brand internationally. After hosting my Hairnista Hey Girl Hey event in Dubai this year I realized how important it is to connect with my supporters around the globe.
